Круто. Но я бы сделал его одной толщины. Вопреки мнению производителей, соревнующихся друг с другом в технологиях, пользователю важнее всего удобство использования. И ему не нужны тонкие девайсы. Толстыми пользоваться удобнее, и они прочнее. Опять же, в толстый корпус можно больше уместить "железа": больше микросхем (и, следовательно, больше памяти), больше места для камеры, более толстый, а значит и более емкий, аккумулятор. Производители, начните уже делать толстые телефоны. Все скажут вам: "Спасибо!"

This is definitely a phone for enthusiasts of the headphone jack. I count myself as one of that minority who prefer a simple copper cable to bluetooth wizardry and headphones with batteries in them. If they forego the typical proprietary charging interface for a simple USB-C I am even more enthusiastic. If it has a micro SD-card slot, I'm all the more on board. Very clean. Considering a high-end Walkman tape deck cost $200 back in the day, the $900 price point is not all that terrible, when inflation is taken into account.

Unfortunately if there was such phone, Sony wouldn't advertise it like they used to advertise phones back in the day. Nice idea, but there are only a few phones out there that go out of the norm, boring rectangulars we are so used to these days. It's like they are afraid to make something with stylish edges that draw the attention of viewers, something of nostalgia that would get them to buy it. I guess it would be harder to find a case but not impossible.

Why can't they make projector phones, or at least cheap projector phones? You must know that people are getting fed up with small, insignificant variations in the smartphone concept. They need a revolution in the smartphone concept. A projector phone, a phone-computer combo from which you can project all the operational parts onto a surface for use and "retract" such operational parts when not in use, all in a phone-size device. That would be a revolution in phone technology!

for fit-feel-finish sony is the one. i wonder how planned obsolescence works for this device. a premium audio gadget would be expected to last way longer than your average brick...

I'm sure, that that Walkman is made with passion. But there is something that disappoint me: only the lost phone modus divide this Walkman from a good Smartphone 😔 A good Camera ist o.k. WIFI is o.k. (for music streaming). The rest is not necessary for enjoying good music with passion 🎧😘😉😊☺️

Если сони сделает такой смартфон, то я бы его купил, у меня есть плеер практически копия, единственный минус это низкая ёмкость аккумулятора.
