Tried to replace belt on same model. Now it won't power on anymore

Sorry! Fortunately this walkmans are really cheap on the used market, I don't know what problem is causing yours to not turn but you can surely and easily find a "new" one! This old pieces of tech are somewhat really fragile and the opening process can be a little traumatic due to the old plastic and the "No screws" opening process, in fact, the back is locked in place by some plastic clip.

J'ai une pièce en trop .1 plaque inox avec 5 pattes ,,, qui devrait appuyer sur quelque chose .J'ai trouvé lors de mon premier démontage , mais quelqu'un avait pu démonter avant moi .C'est donc 1 cadeau empoisonné

Thank you! For the precision belt kit you can try on eBay, just search for a belt and specific your Walkman’s model. There are kit almost for every Walkman, sure you can find one for yours!

Hi! Can you demonstrate a grounded walkman? I'm going to repair my father's walkman, it was grounded because he plug the wrong cable on it and he was frustrated why it smells like burning plastic

something burned in the pcb. you'll need the service manual to check for shorts. you can also try smelling the pcb to find the burned component if visual inspection doesn't work. check from the headphone jack to the amp, if that's where he plugged something incorrectly.

How do you open the walkman? My dad have the same walkman as yours, and i really wanna try to change the belt. Can you do the tutorial for it?

There are clips around the edge. Use a special phone opening knife and push in at the right points, following around, keep pushing each point until it opens, and then keep it open with something whilst you work around... This is probably the most tricky point, and I broke half the clips on mine doing this!

That's because the belt is a generic one, it comes from a set that I bought pretty cheap!

Hi I have a walkman wm-fx323 the auto reverse is playing backwards and I already change the belt problem is that when it auto reverses it doesn’t play the side b instead it plays side a backwards

Sounds like a head problem, probably need some electronic repair, just look over the internet or on you tube, you’ll find someone more prepared them me for this type of repair! Thank you for the comment 😀

The placement of the belt was probably wrong. Usually the belt goes over a few gears like a belt on a car engine. You might have placed them in the wrong location and thus making it move backwards. Or possibly the head is out of alignment and is scanning the other side of the tape.
