Thanks for this review! While I expect that we'll eventually get a double din screen sized unit from Sony with HD display and wireless Android Auto / CarPlay (the 9500 ES is way too large for old school cars), I'm gonna pull the trigger on getting an AX5600 for this summer. Nothing new from Sony announced yet, and from studying past press-releases, the best case scenario is a new unit gets announced this month, and will be available 2-3 months later, which would cost me most of this summer anyway.

Great video and thanks for all the detail. It helped me make the decision to get one in order. Hypothetically speaking....In a legal state can you ground the parking brake sensor of this unit or does it have the secondary safety where a bypass kit is necessary?

Hey Jesse. Hypothetically speaking, yes you can ground the brake sensor. No bypass kit is needed since it doesn't have GPS or any other vehicle sensory inputs.

Got this ...and got a harness for it..but. it won't power off..connected all wires to thr right color...and it won't power off

Why does the wallpaper looks washed out when importing them, it does not reproduce the actual image colors.

I have found a better way to do this with out a cables or having to connect your phone you have spend 25 bucks extra but it works amazing lmk if you want the info

I have a 2021 Dodge Ram 1500 Bighorn. I found that when trying to hook the unit up, my back up camera and steering wheel controls no longer work. We were able to finally find another cable after searching for over a month that worked (another $145) but the steering wheel controls still do not work. Any idea how to get those to work?

Wiring can be tough on same-year vehicles. It sounds like a wiring issue. Very tough to say without knowing what you purchased and how it was installed.. sorry

Is there any major differences between this unit and the XAVAX3200 model? Besides the HDMI of course

That 3200 don’t have this screen. They look very similar but the responsiveness of the 3200 lags a bit whereas this one is like an iPhone screen. There’s a KZfaq video of the 3200 versus a 5000 model with the 5000 model being similar to this 5600 one: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/l9moaayHuZ60dKs.html

Is the apple CarPlay wired or wireless?

Wired. The only unit that has wireless from Sony right now is the 9500ES

A lot of people ask that, but you would have to spend like 400 more to get wireless car play. You are not getting wireless car play at this price point.
