Xb 31 sounds somewhat muffled imo. They don’t sound exactly the same

Vocals are definitely more clear on XB32 based on this recording

The XB32 sounds a little bit clearer to me in this first fast comparison...

Why does Sony keep making upgrades for there speakers so fast people are going to stop buying because as soon as a new one comes out there is a newer one

I own the xb 31 and it is a real rugged speaker... It has no scratches even though i use it to the park

XB32 has more clarity than XB31. Maybe XB32 has amplified high tones a Lil bit.

I just got a 41 and is a beast, good quality sound and look amazing The new speakers can not compare to the 41, the 41 is the Best Buy

Sony XB30 still rules. It sounds amazing for its range.

I bought the XB22 and i think it sounds a bit better than the 20/30 series. I like it and it plays with my other sony speakers!

Sony improved sound quality in xb32 and you clearly hear the high and low frequencies compaired to xb31

32 is actually rated shock proof, 31 very rugged but not rated at shock, I think they pushed in the lights so if it gets dropped on the edges it will be str8, I've seen pics with broken line lights

its like xb30 was the dad, then xb 32 was the sleeker mom, they both gave birth to this hybrid mesh and rubber baby with same features/DNA.

XB30 + XB31 = XB32 • sony fixed the muffled sound from the xb31 and did it better on the xb32 • majority is still using micro usb than type c and not all have adapted to the usb c which in my country is... I still find most devices on micro usb than than type c 14:20 they dont sound exactly the same... the XB32 has more mids and trebles and lessen a bit of bass compared to the XB31 which lacks some mids and highly on the trebles and has too much bass boost

The xb32 sounds more natural to me but less aggressive too which some people may not like

I like the rubbery material cuz if my hands get grease or what-not it's easier to clean than fabric.

paused at 14 mins. as i write this, i think the logic of sony bluetooth speaker department went very simply down to basics. the 21 and 31 were the best if the last series on various aspect. The 41 althought it is what i use, the only strenght it has is the fact it has full range drivers which does not deliver well with the onboard amp. The onboard dac and amp within the 21, 31 and 41 is the same. The maximum volume of the 41 is only 5 to 7 decibels higher then the 31... like that make much of a differance at that point... the use of full range drivers give a good sound if you plug it with a good wire and feed it from a clean hi-fi source....on the bluetooth sound however.. it is barely noticeable due to the poor quality onboard dac and amp. While using non full range drivers such as those of the 31 the sound is optimal to what the drivers can give and what the dac/ amp output. it's for that reason that the "live mode" sound like crap on the 41. it can sound good if you connect it from a hi-fi source with a wire. Yes it support ldac... still the dac/ amp used doesn't reproduce a frequency range of 5 hz - 40000 khz. (the full range drivers do it... but not the on board shizzle) (connect a wire from a portable bluetooth hi res receiver and connect your phone to that receiver instead of the joke they slabbed inside the 41 and you will definitely get awesome sound.) dont crank the volume of the speaker onboard amp...it starts screwing up sound quality if to high. like most onboard shitty amp on most phones. back to the 31 and 21.. they did great. support ldac but who cares. (sony logic goes to.. ah we fucked up the 41... let's just ditch it. Sony would really need to redo the 41 by making it with a good dac/amp that support hi res so that the ldac would be kind of usefull.

I got this as a replacement for my XB-31. It is sounds a lot better than my old XB-31. Less muffled than the XB-31

These things sound so much better with LDAC.

Xb32 sounds abit clearer in Xbass mode

When you think you have enough speakers of this series Sony adds new ones that only have little difference so yeah Sony I’m just going to keep my 31,21,30 and xb20 think I got enough portable speakers already😂

To me through the mic the xb22 had quit a bit more highs but still bass sounded the same and it was a little hollow

Wondering if you can chain new and old gen together? thats the stupidest thing about sony's i can't chain with the older speakers Weird that the XB41 sells more than the others. Where you getting numbers from? the 31 probably largest you can fit in like the side pocket of a backpack and general on the go usefulness. 41 too big to even hold easily in one hand. I hope the next version XB41 comes with separate tweeters tho. In terms of ruggedness i've had the 4 gen old XB3 for a few years and play beach and grass volleyball all the time plus being knocked around in gym bag, the rubber still looks new to me. I don't know if newer ones use cheaper rubber.

I have bought multiple Sony products but Sony makes horrible decisions. They come out with cool concepts but don't support them after a year or so. I'm not a fanboy and can admit Sony burns it's consumers multiple times.
