Hi I'm Yefrin Dawid here frm Malaysia just wanna ask about the front facing camera especially the Xperia 1 mark 3 some people commented its too bad I got one friend from Malaysia as well bought the similar device and he commented to me says its really bad front facing camera

Hey Yefrin - it's not great, the front facing camera bit good enough for zoom and Skype calls etc, just about. Doesn't compete with other phones at this price point in the selfie department and that will put some people off. Personally it doesn't bother me too much at all. And it is better than the 1 II in terms of the results (hardware hasn't changed much). Cheers, Tom 🙏

Like half my products are sony like ps5,tv,speaker and camera. They should reallys start taking advantage of other products and integrating them together like samsung or apple does. They should also start selling internationally once again as many countries don't even get some of their products

@@bbcrayzee The front camera is ok, but not flagship worthy. However it's good enough for me as i don't really use the front camera. If the front camera is your main requirement, then wait for the next one or get a phone from a different company.

@@inSaNe_44 if you film continuously in 4k, in warm weather, it overheats in about 15 minutes,but usually you can still film, it's just that the overall performance of the phone will drop in order to cool down. If you are gaming, the mileage may vary depending on the game/settings. Sometimes it overheats, sometimes it doesn't. Again very dependant on ambient temp. If you play a lot, this may not be the phone for you.

Xperia 1 here too. Hi! :D I’m on 2-year run with all of my devices. In general, I left out 1 generation. Xperia z3 -> Xperia XZ Premium -> Xperia 1 and now, just like you, I’m waiting for my Xperia 1 III.

There's literally no reason to upgrade your phone with every generation. That's just influencer and marketing bullshit. I got the Xperia 1 III at launch (late August in my country) and I switched from an Xperia XZ1. That's 4 years old and it still works absolutely impeccable. I'll keep the Xperia 1 III for another 4 years if I can.

Sale the previous generation phone and put that money towards the new one each time 🙂. That's all I do unless I REALLY want to keep it as a back up phone.

Every Apple interested forums speak about the future iPhone in 2022 or 2023 that they’ ll sport ‘ Periscope’ motorized lenses in one of their objectives and they and the apple fans in commentary section go crazy about it. You can imagine. And how funny it is that none of them mention that they’re about to use the same tech ‘Periscope’ camera that Sony put in their most recent phones. They show to the fans that Apple invented something big however the reality is more bitter than that :D

To me 5 seems much better value: 30% cheaper, 35%+ better battery life (gsmarena), better quality zoom cameras (according to 2 reviews, however likely rather issue with their preproduction units). Downsides are no wireless charging, picks up more fingerprints and perhaps speaker is supposedly not as loud (but comparing on gsmarena they are relatively close). The 5 III is at the moment even harder to buy. Seems it will be early October now.

@@luc7976 Glad I got Xperia 5 II which is the first Sony smartphone to boost 120 Hz refresh rate. Gaming Enhancer also good for gaming.

Yes best smartphone behind fold 3 i believe. How did your Xperia 1 got gooseed after only 2 years?

@@JoeGillian0 the phone was great, battery just wasn't lasting long enough. Full charge from 6:00am I'd be lucky to have 50% by dinner. I do a lot of long distance walking which I need GPS/maps so I suppose that didn't help. I like the idea of the fold feature just wasn't keen on the crease in the centre of the screen, my OCD would be kicking off 😂.

@@jackog2447 Ah yes i think continuous gps tracking will bring to its knees almost any smartphone, maybe you can use the setting to limit the accuracy of gps and save à litte more battery life. well you are quite right about the crease, especially outside in Day light it s more annoying

The exact same story for me. Fingers crossed for that September 16th delivery.

Every major retailer sent out same day orders before pre orders. My example is Best Buy. They are still trying to send me a unit on September 27. I ordered on the August 25th with Sony and received my unit by the 29th. Others pre-ordered through Sony and bought sane day through Best Buy. They received their Best Buy units but not Sony preorders. Amazon did the same, i don't know why they did that but I'm still waiting to get my Best Buy version so I can return because I got the Purple version through Sony and it's beautiful.

You'll definitely enjoy the upgrade from an Xperia 1 but you're right to flag the thought of waiting for the 1 mk 4 (or whatever Sony calls next year's flagship) because that is likely to be an all-new design and a bigger jump than the jump between the 1 II and 1 III. If you can wait, you'll be glad you did. I have a 1 II and decided to wait. All of the Sony phones we are talking about here can last for many years without battery (or other issues) which definitely feels good too. Hold on for next year's flagship of you can is my advice - but if you can't, I wouldn't blame you! You'll absolutely love the 1 III I'm sure! Cheers, Tom 🙏
