I've been using the 1 IV for a week or so, and haven't had much problems with overheating, even on warm days. I disable Face/Eye AF and object tracking though, as I usually have no use for it. It do get warm, but not uncomfortably hot. I paid around €1300, which is less than what I paid for my Galaxy S21 Ultra, and I got the WH-1000XM4 headset for free.

I agree with you! My SONY XPERIA ™ 1 IV I got on 11th of June' 22. I'm very happy with my new XPERIA ™. It's a huge difference to my three years old SONY XPERIA ™ 1. Further more I compared it with apple iPhone Pro Max and SAMSUNG GALAXY S22 ULTRA. In my comparison is SONY XPERIA ™ 1 IV the true winner! All the blogger on KZfaq are lying, that SONY lose the comparison.

Amazing review! Battery endurance is very good. Lasts a full day with enough screen on time. Camera's auto mode also improved for if you want to take a quick shot without playing with the settings.

Very nice review. Thank you for doing this. I have just ordered mine through the Sony website and I'm looking forward to getting it when they release it in the U.S. I've been using Pixels ever since the Pixel 2 XL and after battery issues with my Pixel 4 XL and then my Pixel 5 out of nowhere while typing a text message went to the black screen of death I thought I would try something different. Not interested in Samsung or Apple so your video helped me make my decision. Thanks again!

Xperia 1 IV is actually cheaper then Samsung 22+ ultra and iPhone 13 pro in Australia yet they gave up on the Australian market without a reason back in 2017 slowly leaving other countries, Sony my favourite since their the first of wireless charging and water resistant with a awesome camera now their the only flagship phone that keeps the micro sd slot

Could you do a more thorough test of the overheating? One person I know got the overheating problem at around 3 minutes of recording 4K 120.

Sony definitely improved on their camera front. Definitely worth the buy if you have luck silicon lottery or keep the heat under control.

@@robbarr5300 I have used and tested this phone and I was not impressed, I mean it’s pretty good but you can buy the Xperia mark iii for half the price and it’s 95% as good. And sometimes the camera was better haha

Agree with@@RodolphosTechchannel here, buy the pro-i. I had the MK4 a week, and returend it aswell. It heats up like crazy. Taking 5 pictures outside and a 1min video and its so hot you can fry bacon on it. The pro-i can get hot aswell but not not like the MK4.

The continued overheating issues is proving to be very troublesome for this extremely expensive phone. On paper it's one of the most impressive phones that I've ever seen. Still like the flagship phones from Apple and Samsung, I think it's way too expensive for anyone but tech enthusiasts to even consider. Even more so with the overheating issues the brand that Sony can't seem to overcome after several years.

Each year it's tempting but in typical Sony fashion, there are annoying traits ;p Would be cool to have a 1" sensor on 3 lenses on a phone, go all out, have natural processing and good glass.

Great review again ! We have another Sony phone which could be the best in class device, however again some minor issues preventing that as overheating, post-processing software, etc. So big potential of this phone but again deciding to buy it you need to make some compromise..

Phone would be good if it was half the price. Insane price hence the bad reviews everywhere. Its basic. The camera is decent but still isn't the best camera. Os is basic, customisation is poor, performance average, battery life is poor according to most reviews including slow charge time. Massive bezels are unnecessary and will stop people looking at them because they look dated, and they are. Shame brcusee I think they have the nicest designs along with iPhone and the flat screen is nice. They need to do away with that expensive unnecessary 4k screen for a 2k one to make it cheaper. Not many comparisons brcusee they lose every single one. Find x5 Pro for example, better in every way and cheaper.
