The Sony Xperia 5 Mark II was announced quite recently and we've just got our hands on it. The MkII upgrades the previous model across the board and it's actually quite closer to the Xperia 1 MkII.

GSMArena Official if thermal is under control than sony now make a perfect phone 3.5mm jack, 6.1 screen, 4000mah, 865soc =a perfect phone from evergreen manufacturer. sony making phones for consumers not for Sony like Apple they force there consumers buying unnecessary things from there ecosystem and cut down features, functions for charging premium... Keep it up sony. guys this time sony makes right move and give us a perfect top spec tech now its our turn to support the SONY. If you are going to buy a high-end phone than first please get a physical overview of the SONY 5 ||.

i think it's a very smart move, because if you have a screen that's so good for watching movies (with the 21:9) you'd immediately discourage people if you put in a notch etc.

This is good but because I use the front camera so little (its quality doesn't matter that much) I prefer the under screen type with narrower bezel.

Pretty much the perfect and the only phone with FHD+ 120hz OLED, S865, micro-sd, headphone Jack, 4000+ battery, 4k120p, compactness.

its just bezels moving towards the edges, the phone size doesn't necessarily increase. use some senses

This looks a great phone - I love how Sony keeps the headphone jack and the full display without notches or hole punches. I hope the screen is brighter than the 1 II, which is a bit difficult to see in bright sunlight.

Compact in my definition means "not too wide" phone, I have short thumb any phone that can be use comfortably in one hands deserves the word "compact" .

I actually love the rounded edges/corners, especially in that glossy finish. The white (grey?) color option is absolutely stunning.

Very good review, short and to the point. This could well be my next phone. From experience with my LG phones I prefer the headphone socket on the bottom but I guess can't have everything. This looks like a great "smaller" phone.

Got the phone and I totally love it 😀😁 the screen OLED, camera, 120Hz but most of all coming from HTC I was hugely sceptical about the audio. I should not have feared Its absolutely awesome crazy loud crisp and clear blows my HTC clean out of the water 😉😊😇 Thank you Sony 😇😘

Those small bezel helped alot while gaming, my hand frequently accidentally touched the screen with play pubg and ML while using bezelless screen smartphone...

Håkan Lundin yes, the sleek factor is 1 of the reason I bought the phone when it was launched back then. Not a powerful phone although it shares the internal with the flagship at the time; Xperia Arc since Samsung already release Samsung S2 with dual core cpu while Sony Ericsson still playing with single core. Miss the time when the form factor is not just a slab of black and rectangle phone.

Please could you tell us in the next review if the Xperia 5 II has the album app, since they trashed it in the 1 II. I mean where photos and videos are stored? Directly to Google Photos or is there any file where we can find what we captured? Thank you

Finally a smaller version of a flagship phone which is still a flagship. I have always wanted this. Earlier it was like if you want a smaller phone, you have to compromise on a ton of stuff. But this phone right here, is something else. I love it, and its design, and everything about it. I know Sony phones are not a popular choice, but I have always felt that they are the most beautiful looking phones out there. Slick is the term I would use. Always have loved their boxy design, and even though this one has more curves, it still feels solid and boxy. Yes, I am that person who loves sharp edges, like Nokia Lumia used to put in their phones. Like in Lumia 830 and so, or even iPhone 4, and 5. Or any experia at the beginning of the series after ericcson died.

0:44 ─ you are correct, the fact that they are slowly _starting to look like _*_every other phone_* disappoints me _sooooo_ much. IMO, the look and feel of my Moonlight Blue *XZ1* is elegant. It is just. . . *perfect.* Sadly, I took it for granted that the *XZ1* would have this one particular feature I had with my 2014 *Xperia Z3 Compact.* A feature I used _all the time._ I was all kinds of wrong. I sold a lot of things, and I saved up all my nickels and dimes to buy an *XZ1* in 2020. And I did my research. I got the G8342, so I can be sure to have an activated fingerprint sensor. But then, 3 months later, the charging port no longer seems to connect. Right now, it has 20% left on the battery. Once that's gone, I will no longer be able to use the phone at all. 😔 I'm not generally an envious person, but when I think of how hard it was to get that money together, I do envy those people who can just seem to buy a new phone like they're buying a new toothbrush. Well, I kind of went off on a tangent there, didn't I? 🥺

Good thing they put big battery. It should be a standard for a phone in present time. Also, if having bit thicker forehead and chin means better speaker, then it is way better than full screen display.

A large amount of USA customers fall under the T-Mobile umbrella. So one of the most important aspects of the phone, nobody seems to be talking about in any of the reviews. Will it come with the software and authorization for VoLTE and VoWifi on T-Mobile?

I am one who prefer "box" or "brick" design. but I think this phone could be my exception. I definively a fan of compact phone, but after three years with my xz1c 4.6" I see in that screen sliglty bigger (only 30mm longer) an improvment in the user experience. As: less need to scroll while reading something, and a true use for two app toghether (split screen). This phone litterally has only one defect: the price 😅

The camera system is not the same as in Xperia 1 ii as this one doesn't have the TOF sensor that aids the main camera's auto focus in burst shots and low light.

Sony doesn’t have a big market share when it comes to smartphones but they are the winning party because literally every smartphone maker uses Sony camera lenses for their smartphones. And yes, also Samsung and Apple devices have cameras that are manufactured by Sony. They are the best.

This have the same battery endurance as iphone 11 pro max. Even samsung s20 with same battery size did 30% worse compared to xperia 5 ii. I love xperia phones. Due to xperia have bezel, I use thinner casing. Because phone nowadays have too sensitive screen which my palm and fingers can trigger a touch due to almost no bezel. I bought bumper casing to compensate the touch issue on these phones

the headphone jack is in the wrong side tho, imagine you have your headphones on and you put your phone in your pocket, the cable will get damaged really fast unless you flip your phone every time you take it out
