@@ChigzTech I always buy that i can afford so it is ok. Samsung and iphones are expensive too and i used them too for a short period and i am sure they never have the sony performance and potencial. This is my experience.

Just a tip for the reviewer and anyone with this Xperia or similar... When you configure the fingerprint scanner, make sure to move slightly the finger each time you touch the sensor, this way you will cover more area. I have both thumbs and both index fingers and the scanner works very well in my case with all of the fingers. In fact it works too well that sometimes I just pick up the phone and I unintentionally unlock it.

Hey man, i'm really considering this Phone. Only thing that makes me worry is the front cam. Obviously, for real gaming i use a pc/console, and for high class photos i'll use my photocamera. Selfies though, is what i really think is important on a portable Phone. Despite the 8mp, is the front cam really that bad as people say or is it still decent??

Yes, near perfect, but you are right that's dame lots buttons on one side, even Pixel Phones don't have dedicated Google Assistant button, why Sony needs to care? Didn't they learn from dedicated Bixby Button from Samsung. What they could have done is put two capacitive touch buttons on Horizontal Left & Right, make it programmable, then it will serve as best gaming phone as well. By the way all Phone manufacturers needs to consider front firing stereo speakers consumers are fine with little bezels no one is going to complain, good job Sony on that.

codm does still run at 60fps right? i have my black shark 3 and it doesnt go to 90fps so im pretty sure that 120hz screen doesnt actually output 120fps, you are still playing 60hz

Codm partnered with Sony, so it's the only phone to run it at 120 fps. It's on their xperia official channel. There's a full video.

Might I ask comparing the Xperia 5ii and say the OnePlus 8T or Galaxy S20 FE which one has better performance overall, louder speakers, better Battery life and overall better front & rear camera systems in terms of dynamic range, clearer audio when recording video, more warmer, more natural colours ,wider field of view in selfies (& rear cameras) ,less noise with zooming in and better low light photos?

That probably has to do with the fact that he is filming a screen more than the phone itself. Maybe that and the 120hz refreshrate if It's on aswell.

There isn't much reason to turn it off. However you can still download third party apps to add tons of other notification shortcuts including NFC. The one I use is called Quick Settings and it has a lot of useful shortcuts

I have xperia 1ii, actually top bezel is 1mm bigger than bottom it doesn't look too bad almost equal.. for old xperia 1 yes top bezel 2-3mm bigger than bottom

It’s a fantastic phone, the only downside are the cameras.. I find the front camera to be the worst front camera I ever used in a smartphone. Even if you disable the soft skin effect it’s still so soft and of a mediocre quality. The rear and front cameras too are impossible to use in low light. Had been using the PhotoPro app but still, cannot get a good shot in low light (I came from Google Pixel 4XL) Cameras are suppose to be its strongest side as Sony is well known great for it, turns out it is the smartphones weakest.

Yes, someone who knows their cameras as well. I cried in my review/comment because it's such a shame... They put it together so well (the phone), it's fast, but heyyyy, let's put a dedicated assistant button, but leave cameras on Xperia Z5 level... My mom got a P40 Lite for 200eur and it has impossible better images quality.

This is exactly what I do with Pixel phones. My current fault driver Pixel 4 costed me even less than that and I like it. Xperia 5 II doesn't worth more than that too. I will certainly miss 3d face unlock and wireless charging.

The only issue with this phone is that it's really really tall. Even though it's good for webpages but it still hard to pull notifications and use one-handed.

You can swipe your finger down from the middle of the screen, the notifications bar will get pulled down. :D

5 II - fairly lower price, HW is the same but larger 4K display on 1 II drains battery much faster, so it's not worth it. If you have 1 II kind of money, there are much better options out there.

Really great phone, especially the design. As a major flaw in my opinion it would be fingerprint sensor. It should be either under the display or on the back, that way it would be avoided pressing twice sometimes in order to unlock the phone. Perhaps they should consider putting Face ID as well in the future if they don't have in mind to relocate fingerprint sensor.

@@The-Heart-Will-Testify depends on the phone, looks unreal on my old P20 Pro, not to mention on new phones that have proper cameras (not saying Pixel 4 has bad camera, it's just not "up there"). At least with Pixel 4 you can get a decent nature photos while X5 II will do so only when cloudy (for the object ofc, sky will look like a white over-exposed mush)

I bought a 5ii for £581 from a friend who switched back to iPhone because he's more used to iOS to Android, so it's a pretty good deal. The phone was rarely used.

Using SONY a7 iii for more than a year, I am quite surprised watching the video quality, and especially the stabilization. It's awful. But the colour science on still camera is up to the mark. Also, I am disappointed about the quality of selfie camera.
