Make-A-Wish® Mid-Atlantic was thrilled to grant a unique and selfless wish for wish kid Sonya from La Plata, Maryland. After Sonya was diagnosed with cancer at 17, she learned she was eligible to receive a wish from Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic and generously decided to use her wish to support others during this time of need. She chose to give to five community organizations that are near to her heart:
• Pediatric Oncology Support Team, Inc.
• Feeding America, Inc. COVID-19 Response Fund
• Coronavirus Relief Fund from GlobalGiving’s Disaster Recovery Network
• NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund, Inc.
• National Bail Fund Network
Though the vast majority of wishes are on hold due to COVID-19, Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic was thrilled to celebrate Sonya's generosity as we share the work we are still doing daily to keep our mission alive for local wish children.
