What about the Digital Walkmans? It has a Cassette UI, you can use earphones as wireless with the Walkman and also has an DAC!

I love tapes! Like last year I made a mixtape full of a bunch of duster and black metal songs (weird mix) and I got high as shit and walked around in my neighborhood at nighttime listening to it. It was awesome.

That rusty feeling. Today we have phone with many songs but putting a cassette and listening music is just like having dinner from online delivery and having dinner inside an old fivestar castle.

It would be nice to have a cassette Walkman. Unfortunately, the fact cassettes can deteriorate after 20-30 years is a huge deal breaker for me, to be honest with you. I did turn my old TCL phone into a music player-only, with a few downloaded games (Temple Run 1&2 and Snake are all it have). Doesn’t have lot of storage though.

Absolutely what a beautiful walkthrough of this old masterpiece that I happen to remember well. Was about 20ish. Now I'm 60. So many years gone by it's incredible when thinking of it. The wonderful memories you take with you when Jesus comes for you. 😊

buy a ''broken'' one for 20 bucks and simply change the belt. its easy. if it turns on but doesnt play its a belt problem most likely. Dont like it anymore? if you bought a early model it might be up 300$ functioning.

my grandmother gave me one of these a year ago, it was a 20+ year old Sanyo, not sony but still played and worked well. I still remember that night i stayed up trying to record all my fav songs on it!

I actually own a Sony cassette Walkman from back in the day. It's a yellow WM-FS395 Sports Walkman from circa 1994. It's basically just a WM-FS393 but with Dolby B noise reduction. I got it as a valentine's day present a few years ago and it still works. :)

I still have my Sony Walkman Sport Mini Disc player. Damn you iPod for killing off Mini and preventing the Microdisc. I remember seeing the microdisc on Sea Quest DSV in the 90s. I was like that has to be Sony.

I had TPS-L2 first lot model（headphons dolls/guys） WM2 limited perl white model called Hokkaido that sold in only Hokkaido Prefecture. WM-20 WM-DC2 WM-D6C WM-DD2 TCD-D5M all prayers and recoders are pritvy good! WM-4 also good gear!

This one's better than TPS-L2; it's WM-4: four batteries and having a tape selector normal and metal instead of tone low and high.

Yep. The downside to this is that just like the D6C, it only lasts about 6 hours.

Sony made an almost identical cassette recorder. The only difference is it was Mono and it had a microphone. My parents being the cheapsters they were saw the lower price and got me one for Christmas. 😂

Used to have the Sony waterproof, was yellow and there was a clip that shuts the cassette port and I wear them daily , was the perfect gadget I ever had , until one day it stopped working , was upset but I did wear all the 8 cassettes though indeed , wasn’t much into the radio station . I did find the exact same one in eBay but the price wasn’t in my favor ..

The Sony WM-4 pocket cassette player was manufactured in Korea since 1983, and not in Japan, like its predecessor WM-2. The WM-4 is a budget Walkman cassette player and was designed to be inexpensive, replacing the WM-1.

This actually shows three things. 1 is that progress knows no time or speed, 2 there are things that you think are cool now will be of no matter in the future, 3 creativity and imagination is the driving force towards the future and while other things become obsolete imagination, creativity and the will to go forward will never be useless.

If you actually re-release these, I will buy it. This is literally my dream. I was born in an age with mobile phones and MP3 players but I loved the stories my dad told of using actual cassette tapes. Sitting by the radio to record his favorite song, just so he could listen to it. I wish I was born in the good old days

I have the grey wm-4 i listened to it every day until the batteries exploded in it and wrecked the unit, so sad. Since then i have a wm dd quartz, a TPS-L2, wm-2 and a semi working wm ex-606

Nobody might want to admit it but cassettes are just blatantly outdated and most people who want one probably don’t even have cassettes to begin with. There are so many drawbacks to cassettes, along with the fact that Sony just doesn’t have the right equipment anymore to manufacture them. Sony is still a great company, they just adapted and didn’t stay stuck in a dead market.

@@natedaninja3171I believe you misunderstood? He was saying, Sony, the company changed for the worse. Not that the change to digital from analogue was bad. But that Sony has been perform less relative to its market. It was dominating in the cassette market, then. Now is still doing well in digital, but not as much in relativity.
