Cuz I had to know: Wellerman = reference to the New Zealand Weller Shipping Company owned by brothers Joe, Edward and George in the1800s.Their ships delivered supplies to other ships (like sugar, tea and rum). The delivery men came to be known as ‘Wellermen.’ ‘Tonguing’= cutting whale blubber into strips so the fat could be rendered.

You have not got it quite right. The Weller Bros established shore whaling stations in New Zealand before New Zealand was settled by Europeans. The shore whalers chased the whales in longboats, and the Weller ship made regular calls to pick up the whale oil and deliver supplies.

Not going to lie, the song began, and I didn't expect much of a difference to most of the other covers on this site. Then the instruments and harmonies came in, and I was instantly hooked. This sounds spectacular!

I have long enjoyed music, including “folk” or “traditional” music. Yet somehow, this traditional tune had eluded me until I recently stumbled upon a lovely version of it by a solo female singer. It was great to hear this beautiful 3-part interpretation. An excellent and balanced blending of beautiful voices. My compliments and thanks to you!

I love the Hound + Fox and I love Home Free. Great song y’all. My all time favorite with Hound + Fox and Home Feee is with Tim Foust: We Three Kings. I replay that often. I have a feeling I will replay this one as well. Chance has a wonderful voice too. 💜🦋 both groups are awesome. I really enjoy Hound + Fox’s Christmas music. My favorites are Mary Did You Know? And Breath Of Heaven. 💙
