What I love and appreciate SO MUCH about your channel is just how authentic you are. No painting this picture perfect day/routine. It is so beautiful and refreshing. Motherhood is so hard. But you showing the reality (for better or worse) is more of what we need. It is so unbelievably hard some days but you showing that love and joy can coincide with chaos and uncertainty is TRULY remarkable, Kayla. I so look forward to your videos.

ALSO! I hope this doesn’t get lost. Have you heard of or tried the Baby Merlin Sleep Suit? My first had HORRIBLE colic and didn’t sleep until we invested in a very expensive sleep school for him at 10 months. I was EXTREMELY delulu. So then with our second I obviously didn’t want to repeat that especially with being alone with 2 and our first being extremely attached to me and not wanting to be apart. So once our second reached 3 months (or 13 pounds whichever comes first) I would put her in the baby Merlin sleep suit and nurse her laying down on the bed and then would leave and she’d sleep for HOURS!!! It took a little bit at first it was like an hour or two but way better than before. And then she was suddenly sleeping through the night. I would crawl into bed with her when I was ready for bed. My husband sleeps with our toddler (long story lol horrible sleep regression bla bla bla). But anyway….. the suit was a LIFE SAVER. I just put her in a short sleep little basic onesie - pants, and socks or no socks depending on how warm it is in the house. We live in South Texas so it’s hot and let me tell you we have never had a problem with her heating up. The suit helps it startle reflex and makes them feel cozy and safe AND they are unable to roll over in it (obviously still monitor them - I have the monitor on her always) but the peace of mind I have is incredible. Especially because she can be comfortable on our bed and I know she literally cannot go anywhere. Then later I started working on her daytime naps. But girl you gotta stop looking online 😭 because you know all babies are different and let me tell you…. Our daughter only take 2 naps and she has done that since she was a couple weeks old. Sometimes she’s really tired but just has MAJOR FOMO and won’t nap lol. But she sleeps great at night and because of the suit gets herself to sleep for those naps! HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND ❤️ If you do want to try it I suggest getting 2 because they take a while to dry when you need to wash them. And turn them inside out to dry faster.

Also recommend the Merlin suit! Our son used it and now our daughter. She sleeps great at night and maybe one wake up at 3 months. And I’m in fl! It’s not too hot at all I keep the fan on in her room.

Sometimes if you transfer them into the crib when they are asleep, when they wake up they don’t know where they are and just get more upset. That’s why putting them in the crib not completely asleep is so key. I know it can be so hard but it’s a skill they have to learn. Sleep is so tough and I know every baby is different but just wanted to mention.

I learned this too when my daughter was a baby and it really helped. I would put her in the crib while still awake and soothing her while she’s laying in the crib. And really just leave the room and sometimes she would cry for a few minutes, but then she would be fast asleep. Eventually she didn’t cry at all.

Same. Same. Since 5 months onwards. He’s 15 months now and goes to sleep on his own. He waves to me and smiles as I exit the room.

When you talked about the people getting divorced it really hit me! Like I cant even tell you how many people from high school had these extravagant weddings only to be divorced like a year or two later. So sad and honestly is so hard for me to understand considering how big of a commitment getting married is and should be. We are going on 7 years married dating for 3 before marriage and about to welcome our 3rd baby as well and so emotional and happy to see how far we’ve come! Happy anniversary!! ❤❤❤🎉

Just getting over being sick too! My 3 month old has just had some.congestion mostly at night and I totally understand with the balance of doing activites/outings with the older kids and still trying to be safe with the baby. Hope you are all feeling better!

You should try the freida nose sucker and maybe a humidifier? It’s cold season and we’ve been sick here many times already 🤣 Also don’t stress too much about his naps. My son was a horrible nap taker. He would wake up super easily. He also preferred to nap in his swing. Eventually he outgrew the swing and I had to nap him in his crib. It took a while for him to get used to it. I think Sean may just be used to being held so just try to be consistent with his crib and routine. I don’t like to do the crying method but sometimes it does help to let him cry for maybe even 2 minutes so they can try to soothe themselves back to sleep. But yeah it takes time so don’t beat yourself to it! You’re doing amazing

You're doing great, you are an awesome mom! 😊 If the bottle thing doesn't seem to work I would recommend having him evaluated by a pediatric dentist because that can cause reflux/gassy like symptoms, both my boys had tongue ties, one obvious and one not because it was a posterior tongue tie that can affect how they control the flow of milk, or trying a reflux medication for silent reflux if you haven't talked about that with your doctor already.

Your baby is so cute!!! Riley is getting so much bigger I can tell by way shes talking. Your doing an awesome job managing it all! My babies never slept and were never content without being held so I totally get it. Have you tried a swing for him yet? That’s the only thing that allowed me some time. Also you were a stunning bride…what a beautiful wedding!

Have you tried not having him in the swaddle? My son refused to get quality sleep when I tried to use any swaddle. But it took no time after I stopped putting him in them to start actually getting sleep

My son would NEVER nap by himself, and still is a horrible sleeper at 2 years old lol So I resonate with you so so much. One thing that used to work sometimes was I’d use a towel and create a C curve so that it’s like he was being carried. His head and feet would be on top of rolled towels. Also, my son had a tummy switch, where once he didn’t feel warmth on his tummy he’d wake up😂 I hope you and him find a good nap routine!!

I'm sorry you were all sick. That is so miserable as a mama with littles. Highly recommend looking into purchasing a nebulizer machine online and getting a pediatric face mask to add to it (some of them only come with the adult size). You can make a hypertonic saline solution for nebulizing and store in your fridge. This is really effective in killing all kinds of respiratory viruses early on, it calms inflammation in the airway, and breaks up mucous. Lots of information on nebulizing hypertonic saline online. Also info on adding small amount of food grade hydrogen peroxide to it. The saline alone has been very effective in helping babies.

Use baby wipes or Boogie wipes (wipes with saline) for blowing your nose. I used tissue before my two kids and since having them, I started blowing my nose with wipes and would never go back! No rawness or soreness from excessive blowing during colds 🤧

We’ve had latching issues since the beginning and we’re three months in also. He will latch when he wants, but prefers the bottle. I always offer the breast first and then I will pump but the ONLY bottle he will take is the dr browns bottle, so definitely give it a try if you haven’t already.

You could talk with a lactation consultant and have him checked for tongue or lip ties, too (not a doctor, but an actual LC. They’ve got way more experience to notice subtleties.). Our baby was doing fine til her 2 month check up and her weight became a big issue over the next couple months. Found out she had tongue and lip ties that weren’t noticeable at first cause she was able to keep up with what she needed, but as she grew and needed more, she was wearing out before she could get enough. Hope that’s not your situation, but thought I’d share!

My baby did not take a bottle no matter how hard we tried until she was forced to at daycare. Even then, we were not able to get her to take one at home still. But the lansinoh bottles were what the specialist recommended for babies with issues bottle feeding. Hope it gets better.

My baby is 6 weeks, he is my third. I have a 5 and almost 3 yr old. I tried sticking to the baby sleeping schedules with my first, life revolved around the schedule. I did it with my second as well, I was a bit more lenient with my second. This time baby is on our schedule. And he sleeps when he gets tired enough to just knock out. Sometimes we go through the witching hour if he didn’t get good uninterrupted sleep on a busy day but I just can’t do those kinds of put downs this time! Logistically with my others and mentally it was so bad for me trying to get my kids to follow the dang schedules! Thankfully he sleeps pretty well during the night and he does sleep pretty well during the day compared to my other two. All kids are different individuals so maybe it works out just because of his personality or maybe it will all fall apart as he gets older. I just remember those frustrating/hopeless/ defeated hours of my life trying to get my others to sleep on a schedule when I watched today… I feel for you so much!

Something that helped my contact nap fan baby to sleep in the bassinet was to put her on top of a tshirt I wore for a few days 😂

For baby sleep do you use huckleberry app with sweet spot? This was a game changer for us as it helped us best nail her wake windows, and during transitions to less naps. Our baby was a 20-35 minute napper for a long time, though she has always been good about sleeping in her bed. Now at 7 months she is connecting sleep better giving us over 1 hour nap at least once a day. We just started sleep learning/training as well for night this week. We love the snuggle me (so do our cats), but they do not promote them for safe sleep. Beautiful wedding and Bride!

I just started using it again! It’s been nice to visually see his patterns but still no real luck on extending those naps. It’s usual a 30 min nap max in the crib 😅

Just to add and be really honest with you I am the type of mom whom her babies were great sleepers 2 hours naps, they liked their baby car seat the stroller… every thing. My secret is I used to over feed them a little bit I used to nurse but also pump and give them my milk in a bottle like 15 minutes before their next nap and they used to sleep like angles thank god 😍. I would advice you not to stick to a strict schedule while breastfeeding because they get hungry pretty quickly so when his fussy nurse on demand and then he can get a pretty decent morning nap hopefully. My husband and I got our wedding date wrong for 5 years. Just this past year my husband noticed we were married a day later than we said 🤦‍♀️. We even had the inside our rings carved with the wrong date. We got the rings we wear now for our 2nd anniversary. All I have to say is at least both of us were wrong.

My baby did not take the bottle for a long time either, what really helped was latching him on my boob and letting him suck for a minute and then take the boob out and put the bottle in his mouth. It made him realize that the bottle has food in it, hope that helps
