I’m 26 years old but this song was HUGE when I was a kid growing up in England. Sophie actually came to my work place (national theatre) two years ago and performed this during the summer! Yup! It was a #1 in Latin America and Europe. It was never promoted in the USA and also the USA has always been a tricky market to crack into for pop artists. Either way, I am happy that she's getting the recognition she deserved in the American market and I am sure that she was just as happy and surprised as her fans to have tiktok blow this up. The funny thing is that Murder on the Dancefloor has ALWAYS been on my playlists since it came out, I've listened to it frequently all these years and suddenly I'm like WTF why is it on the radio again? It has become popular in recent times due to the use of the song in the movie "Saltburn" which was released last year in theaters. It is a great song and still sounds pretty fresh for 2024. Glad it is finally getting recognition in the USA, even if it took a few decades for it to happen. 😁

I don’t think I’ve ever cried over such an upbeat performance before. Sophie has been such a huge part of my life - My mum used to play all her records as a child. I still remember when this song came out. I would make my parents stay in the car whenever it was on the radio. 20 years later and she’s in the states, touring and on the biggest late night show? She’s an inspiration. Sophie Ellis Bextor is proof that you can live such a beautiful, glittering life. 🧡🪩

I have happy memories of dancing to this when it would get played in the clubs back in 2001/2002. My friends and I all knew the dance routine, so we would do "the altogether!" I was Sophie 😄 I can't believe it was so long ago.

In Latin America this song was an absolute early 2000s classic that still kept having occasional spins in retro stations. I remember vividly watching the MV on TV as a kid back when it was new, loved that song ever since. And suddenly it now blew up again, which is great to see.
