thanks for posting this. ive been through so many teachers in my life and its a waste of time and money. my current teacher is making me use straw in a water bottle and a kazoo for vocal therapy but im producing a nasal sound. this guy sounds dodgy and the singer sounds empty. but i remember one teacher i had got me to crow on an ah and ive started doing that again and im getting more into my sound and my falsetto is coming back. I havent had a falsetto in over a year. thanks mr Silver. ive already learnt or reminded of a lot by watching your students and watching mr operas videos listening to lomonaco hadley and all your posts. i live in Australia and would love learn from someone who teaches chest and falsetto development together. i must organise myself to be able to skype lesson with you, no one here teaches chiaroscuro. my crow teacher did but shes gone now and she could demonstrate and she was well into her 60s.

I really don't do that. I suggest lessons with someone that works on that specifically.

Thanks ...but i don't know if it is possible for me to study with that person via skype or it's alternatives since I am living in Turkey.

People ask me if I know anyone in Europe often and unfortunately I cannot recommend anyone. These teachers are all basically teaching the same harmful or limiting things. It is a rampant problem which is why we no longer hear voices like we used to hear.

This man literally destroyed my voice. Had me doing high falsetto exercises to turn my baritone voice into a tenor. Left me in actual pain from jaw/neck tension

I knew there was something wrong with him when I read in one of his essays that focus on training the chest voice of light tenors is "unethical".

I always wondered what David Jones' singing actually sounds like--now I know: He sounds like an average choir conductor with some vocal training but with with an underdeveloped voice. Thanks for sharing.

To be fair, the false cord thing that David L Jones warns about is very real. It happened to me, and now it takes a lot of warming up in falsetto to overcome the tendency to jump into whistle tone via the false folds. It has also become impossible to sing with a low larynx, quiet volume, and clean tone. So, if he is a charlatan, but also one of the only voice teachers who warns against training the false cord function throughout the entire range, then I don't see what is fake or wrong about him.

I see a lot of criticism and few explanations on your page ... Many singing teachers improvise themselves as specialists of the old Italian school, and to do so, denigrate their competitors. Everyone makes his own cooking to justify his authenticity and to mislead the students. This is your case, obviously, with your "Silver singing Method"...

I post results and write a ton of explanations on the science of the voice and how things have declined. If you don't see that it is because you don't want to see it. Results are the point and you are not interested in that you are interested in defending a belief. So don't bother with my pages and information. Teachers who have no results and mislead people and teach things, like in this video, that are completely contrary to their claims and that limit and/or even can damage the voices should not be hailed as something great just because you are duped by their ability to market themselves.

You are a stingy professor in explanations and seems little motivated for teaching ... A technique must be based on solid foundations and I can not read anyone ... Your videos do not expose anything concrete and exploitable. Not convincing ...

@@dhogwen1318 I have no idea what is wrong with you, but I have written extensively and posted things extensively including RESULTS which NO ONE else does. I have a blog and a FB page and have posted for years. You don't want to listen. You are not interested in the facts. So just go somewhere else.
