I love that his complete misunderstanding of computers comes up several times during the series. When he's at Tony's muddah's funeral and he's high and rambling incoherently for 20 minutes, he mentions how you couldn't get all the people on the earth + anyone who has ever lived, to the same place, "even with computers". God he's such a moron and I love him for it.

He was still relatable up until maybe season 4 but I think they did it on purpose. If he wasnt relatable or we couldnt find empathy for him the show wouldn't have been the hit it was. Him constantly getting worse reminds me of that experiment where we will follow people/directions even tothe point of killing innocent people if it means we don't have to feel any responsibility

It's funny that you include the clip of Carmela and Tony at 4:28 as a "deep cut". Gandolfini saying, "is that a threat" and Falco coming back with, "no, Tony, it's a RAVE REVIEW" was plastered all over the promos on HBO 20 years ago to promote the show and advertise its MANY strong reviews from critics at the time. Keep up the good work!

My first thought when I saw "deep cuts" was a series of allusions to history, pop-culture and local culture that may have flew over many's heads, are niche or layered. But a lot of the clips didn't have that so I was stumped.

The scene with Chris shooting the guy in the foot is easily top 10 for the series. The best is Chris's line after responding to "YOU SHOT ME IN THE FOOT". "Meh It happens". The fact that they would throw a random Goodfella's reference in for fun was great. When the series was running I hoped they would actually mention the movie GoodFella's only because they mentioned Godfather so it must exist in their world.

They half-heartedly work out on the Nautilus machines, slowly, because you can't gossip when out of breath. The made men will "work out" in sweats, or a jogging suit, or a tailor-made silk suit, it doesn't matter, and always have a cigarette or cigar in their mouth. 1:06

Sopranos #1 series EVER shown on television. First class acting by possibly 50+ actors/actresses that each played their part 💯 to make this my all time FAVORITE. James Gandolfini led an all-star cast and injected his majic into every scene. Michael Imperioli and Steve Buscemi SHINED in this gem, as did Tony’s entire gang.. Little Steven Van Zant acted like a seasoned actor instead of the Rock/Blues guitarist of The East Street Band. Jimmy (Gandolfini) brought out the best in everyone’s acting ability with his input according to many of the cast and it shows. RIP Jimmy, hope to have a drink with you on the other side man. ✌️

What’s funny is that Livia is actually right, Carmella did have an exterior motive. Carmella was taking her out in order for Tony to sneak in and stash away weapons and money in her room.
