Thank you so much - as I said before, I owe most of my ability to do any of that to Ida Presti's teaching....and it is a wonderful piece - far too little played.

The tone has a clarity rarely seen nowadays. Have you ever recorded or played pieces by Agustín Barrios? I'd like ser more videos of you... The Presti's technique is outstanding though rarely usted!!!

@@Sorguitar91 Many thanks for your kind words. Yes indeed, not enough people use the Presti right hand technique. Changing to that made all the difference in my own playing, and truly made my career possible. I have played some Barrios pieces of course, but never recorded any of them. I tended to try to record mostly things that many other people were not playing, and also tried in most cases to have a sort of theme to my records. So Barrios didn't fit in with that so well. I played , but never recorded any Villa Lobos either for the same reason - EVERYONE else was doing it.

@@Guitartzt Do you know if any guitarrist teaches Presti's technique in Argentina? The unique living guitarrist I knows or unless it seems is Ernesto Bitetti though he lives no longer in Argentina but USA. Everybody here play with left-side of nail and discourage do with right although one see it does work, especially seing your high level and very round tone.

@@Sorguitar91 I don't know personally of anyone in Argentina, but there may be someone. It has been a long time since I was there. I find a lot of people who play on the other side of the nail try to tell others it is impossible or doesn't work, which is a great pity since it works a lot better than what so many people do. I think perhaps people are just a bit afraid of something that they didn't bother to try to understand. But physiologically and mechanically it makes a lot of sense. I do find I get some good comments for my video on KZfaq on the Presti technique, and people have told me they watched that and it helped them play better. I've also had a few people ask to do Skype lessons with me just to figure out that technique. Of course it is easier to teach all that in person, but we don't have that option these days.

Thanks for your kind words about my performance. Sor did write a lot of wonderful music - his Fantaisie Elegiaque is another wonderful piece, and his Variations on Ye Banks and Braes is also lovely - well that is just the beginning of a very long list one could make. It is certainly possible that Sor and Schubert may have mutually inspired each other, as they were contemporaries, with Sor's longer life encompassing Schubert's shorter one. Sor was a fully trained quite sophisticated complete musician (very rare for a guitarist) and lived in several different European countries, and Schubert played the guitar - so who knows....

@@Guitartzt Dear Alice, I admire what you do. Your timbre palette is so Presti-Lagoya ...Your pizzicato for instance have that unique colour so characteristic of their school ;-)

@@Guitartzt Quite an inspiration indeed, (I personally only met Lagoya in 1974).

@@richardsagala3186 What was special about Lagoya, in my opinion, was that 1. he could sit on the same stage as Presti and not look like an amateur by comparison, and 2. that he was very good at publicity and could work on getting them known and playing lots of concerts. But Presti was the unbelievable virtuoso musician - and an absolutely LOVELY, DEAR, INSPIRING person as well.
