Something unique to BG3 (not in 5e) that isn't well documented or called out in any guides - Storm Sorcerer gets access to several additional spells automatically at level 6 including Call Lightning, Create/Destroy Water, Sleet Storm, and Gust of Wind. A lot of reviews claim storm sorcerer is a bit weak compared to the others going off documentation (even 5e) only, but I don't think that's the case here. Call Lightning is insanely efficient - 3d10 lightning ranged AOE for 10 turns for a single spell slot. This also means more utility and self-sufficient environment manipulation.

Correction on ice knife. It's not a save instead of an attack roll. It's first a single target attack, followed by an aoe with a dex save. The tooltip makes it not very clear, but it's first a d10 as a attack. It does say "on miss:", but still could be a bit more clear. So d10 first and whether you hit or miss that, ALL targets within 1.5 meters (I think, it's 5 feet in D&D rules) including the target, takes the 2d6 with a dex save roll

If I choose a silver dragonborn and have a droconic bloodline sorcerer of white dragon descent, do the resistances to cold damage stack with each other or no?

I've been told, but have not tested, that they do not stack.

In D&D 5ed, multiple resistances to the same type of damage do not stack. It seems to be the case in Bg3 as well.

a "Lucky" Halfing Rogue Thief, seems fun... since the Lucky ability is used not just for combat but lockpick, pickpocket etc, But i rarely see Guides or playthrough using Halfing..

Love the video. But does anyone know if a melee ish styled Shield Dwarf storm sorc is at least semi viable? For the RP and luls

Yes totally, the cool thing about this game is basically anything can be viable. If you were looking to do melee dmg with dwarf hammers, I would go something like 16 str / 14 dex / 12 con / 8 int / 8 wis / 16 cha. If dmg isn't as important and you're lookin to be more like shield tank storm dwarf then something like 12 str / 13 dex / 16 con / 8 int / 8 wis / 17 cha would probably work quite well then try to take the +2 ability feat at some point to bring your dex to 14 and cha to 18. I'm actually working on a draconic bloodline fire hammer dwarf build that I'll be making a video on soon, dwarf sorc seems rad.

@@Zikorik oh I wouldn’t need int for spells? I guess since I’m not writing them down huh? I’m used to BG and IWD 2.5 rule set. I wish they let you play a demo and pick race, level, multi class etc to test out builds

Is there a requirement of certain stats to play storm soc or is there a bug or something? I cannot pick storm soc as my char's sub class. I could only see wild and draconic.

I don't believe so that sounds like a bug.. was it in custom character creation at the start of the game or a character you were trying to respec?

How useless is Wisdom for wild sorc? Im having like 17 charisma and 16 wisdom, cause role-playing wise I want my Sorc me wise. Or its very bad and useless for sorc?:(

Well one of the best stats in the game is wisdom for two reasons. The first is insight/perception. Conversations will be easier because you detect lies easier with high insight and notice hidden things like traps with high perception. The second reason is spell saves. Wisdom saves are the most often occuring spells in the game, so if you have a high wisdom you're more likely to succeed more often.

I totally agree with everything sunlight said, personally I usually don't focus on it too much because I like to build for offensive combat vs roleplay or out-of-combat success lol.

Appreciate the feedback, I was going to try to make a general character creation guide but there was just so much to cover I decided to narrow it down to sorc since that's what I was gonna play. Yeah you shoulda know Blizzard was going to do you dirty, they have not released a quality game since 2016, and everything since then has grown worse and worse. Larian on the other hand has a stellar reputation. I bought it in early access, and as a thank you, they gave me the deluxe version free. That is crazy cool of them, and one of the many reasons they are a gamer friendly studio.
