“Sorrowful, Regretful” comes from the 9th installment of Princess Trixie Sparkle. Princess Luna and Princess Celestia have been captured by the evil pony Astelle. Astelle forced Celestia to reveal a shocking truth to Luna which caused a great rift between the two sisters. This song is a lament, Celestia laments lying to Luna and Luna laments and unspoken relationship/bond with a pony named Shadow. There are still many secrets between these sisters… will they be able to share the whole truth before it’s too late?

The part where Luna says “all that I want is to be your equal” is honestly so heartbreaking to me. Anybody who looks up to an older sibling or a parent always feels like they’re out of reach and Luna’s desperate voice just kills me every time I hear it. It’s amazing.

First time I saw princess Celestia she became to me a symbol of divinity in Equestria, a goddess who rules all the world, but then queen Chrysalis knocked her ass and shoot down a crown from the head. In the beginning of season 4 she and her sister were captured by some obscure ivy. I wonder why creators make her a sort of helpless nitwit.

This actually captures the scene really well. Luna feels hurt, and Tia feels guilty. Tia just wants to apologise and forget about it, but Luna is too hurt and angry to sympathise. I'm probably supposed to take Luna's side, but I'm taking Tia's. How would you feel if your older sister betrayed you, and you had to banish her, only for her to return and destroy your relationship with your younger sister? I would feel betrayed, angry, and hurt. Tia did what she had to do, and now Luna is blaming her for hiding the truth from her. Yes, Tia could have told her, but would you want to tell a kid, who never knew her oldest sister, that her oldest sister was a psychopathic monster? No, I don't think so! It's wasn't Tia's fault. Of course I feel bad for Luna too, because her whole life was basically a lie, but she could have accepted it.

There were some parts where I felt Luna should've raised her voice to make a powerful emotional sensation, like the part where she says: "Just get away from me", I feel she could've raised her voice the slightest to push it past the soft lullaby that it was. This is a song about lying, or being lied to.. So really, truth be told (Irony), This shouldn't have been a lullaby at all.. but an argument. An argument about betrayal, loss of trust, etc. So they should have been speaking loudly, especially Luna, since not only did Celestia banish her to the moon for a thousand years, but Hid her sister away from her for a millennium. Just my thoughts. But other then that this is a great song!

I know you wont see this magpie but this song and your series was such a major part of my childhood. I think i was around 12 when this song and episode came out, and during that time, something traumatic happened with my sibling. It was only a few weeks after when this episode dropped and i, being an autistic child, became really attached to this song. I would listen to it for like 9 hours on repeat because it gave me comfort during that awful time. I would also watch the series on repeat because it made me feel so much better and it made me feel safe(?). I want to thank you for making your series since it honestly saved my life. I love you and your work and i hope you're doing well.

Can we just stop for a moment and just think about this song for a second? If you take out certain lines like "How could he turn away from me?" and "I had looked up to her" and substitute them with something else, this song could be presented in the show! (At least the concept of it) because we honestly NEED a Celestia and Luna moment dealing with the Nightmare Moon problem. Sure, in season one we saw Celestia forgive and take Luna back in, in season four we saw Celestia hint at the fact she still regrets sending Luna to the moon when talking to Twilight during the premier, and in season five we see Luna still dealing with depression as an aftermath of her coming back (AS SHE SHOULD BECAUSE DEPRESSION DOESN'T GO AWAY AFTER ONE VISIT TO A PERSON OR IN THIS CASE A TOWN FULL OF PONIES WHO WERE AFRAID OF YOU BUT BY THE END LOVED YOU AND EVEN THOUGH THEY STILL LOVE YOU, THE PAIN AND DEPRESSION THAT YOU PUT ON YOURSELF ISN'T AND SHOULD NOT BE GONE!!!) but never have we had Celestia and Luna sit down and talk about that night and how it has made them feel. Both have sorrow, both have regret, but none of them have discussed that night to one another. This song is a perfect representation of their relationship and I love it. And if this song is the only thing I get remotely dealing with what i just said, then I am not upset at all. I just feel like it should be addressed in the show too.
