Nightwish is so expert at transitioning into complete new areas for the song to evolve into. I had not heard much of this new album. I will have to listen to the whole thing together. i constantly marvel at the genius of Tuomas, not to mention the instrumental mastery of the group as a whole.

I think that Marco is a little underused on the album. There are not a single power duet with Floor, but great harmonies instead. With this majestic ending song Marco really shines. I don't like ranking songs on the album as solid as this. They are all good songs. There is something for everyone and the quality of lyrics and music is very high. As you said there are challenging singing styles, which we have not heard from them before. I like to see your overall analysis, but as I said I don't like ranking. From only you I can bear it. :- )

Actually, I just read from the comments that Marco was a lot less invested in the making of this album because he was doing his solo tour at the same time, which kind of explains it!

I do agree that Marco is a bit unused. Sucks to be in this state, but when they tour this, maybe Marco has more of a role in the set list. I don't think they, hopefully soon enough, play the record. Add some Marco in there too. I do though like that they have the arsenal to bring a set list that surves everyones needs. Not gonna like argue about anything, but ...let's just hope to be seeing Nightwish touring! Will be a treat! If not for me, for someone else!

This is one of just a few albums for me where every song is amazing. At first I tended to skip Noise and Harvest only because I had heard them so much more than the other songs. Now I just listen to the full album because every song fits perfectly into the experience. The Nature experience in this album seems to be underrated but I find it an essential component for why this album is so remarkable. I can't think of any album from a rock or metal band that takes you on such a journey. The closest I've heard is perhaps Pink Floyd on one of their classic concept albums. When you can be compared to Pink Floyd, you know it's special.

First listen I didn't pay too much attention to this song, even thought the first verse sounds a bit weird. But like after a day or two I can't go a single day without hearing this! And I agree with you this might be one of my favorite chorus on this album (sorry but I love Music and Pan a bit more)! I think Marco's voice and his general vibe is perfect for this song. He has a bit of theatricality, a bit of menacing growl, but also a bit of warm, friendly sarcasm to him. For a song about Time, the inevitability of Death, and how we should be at peace with it, his vocal quality really drives the message home. Please totally do the album review video~! Love your analysis.

I really can't wait to hear what these songs will sound like live.

Very impactfull song and Markos voice is mesmerizing. All the rythm changes are so on point and dramatic. Emppu plays with soul. Eventhough Marko sings everytime there is a chorus in any of these songs it is absolutely heavenly that he got his own song to shine. Loving this. My top3 are Procession, Quiet as the Snow and Pan, the rest of the songs change places on the 4th place depending of my mood 🥰

It's one of those songs that seem instantly familiar, even on first hearing. The chorus is to die for! I hear both Muse and Pink Floyd in the melody. I don't know who Marko is meant to represent - maybe the Universe itself? I could just listen to it for hours on a loop - but I might get evicted for doing that! And I can see you're itching to record your version. It would be interesting to hear you sound as sinister as he does in the verses. 😁 And if the London show goes ahead, I'll be even more pissed off than before at not getting a ticket, because Amorphis are one of the support bands! 😭😤🤦

Overall HN feels fresh and inspired. Really like this album. In terms of lyrics and especially the subjects I feel like this is the best work Tuomas has written. I mean I don't love everything about the album, but the good stuff is so damn good. 1. Music - Nice idea, fresh sound. Sweet lyrics. Beginning was nice the first couple of times, but got old fast. 2. Noise - Very current subject, but it's basically just Black Mirror with Tuomas' usual touch of hopefulness. Some cool riffs though and I wanna hear Floor scream live. 3. Shoemaker - Beautiful. Love everything about this. The sound, the vocals, the subject. 4. Harvest - Beauty of life and death. Pretty much the same subject as Alpenglow, but fresh sound. Fantastic. 5. Pan - My guess is this is going to be the best song live. Cool sound and very poetic lyrics, but the subject is once again creativity, so nothing new. 6. How's the heart? - Probably closest to every day life out of all the songs? Simple down to earth subject, but this one is impossible not to love. And Floor knocks it out of the park in this one. 7. Procession - I really really like the idea behind the song, and I like the lyrics, but it lacks some oomph. Touching and deep song alone from headphones, but might suck live. We'll see. 8. Tribal - Probably a great live song. The sound, the drums, the grunts and Floor's wail, all great. Subject same as Yours is an empty hope and Weak fantasy, so nothing new. 9. Endlessness - This is just incredible in every way. I can't get over how absolutely gorgeous the subject matter and the lyrics are. The endless flow of energy, entropy, dust to dust and the most beautiful thing is there's meaning in between. It's like a combination of the "We were here" line and Harvest and Alpenglow, but with more of a physics look upon it instead of biology. Makes me think of this piece by Melodysheep kzfaq.info/get/bejne/q6pknN2mqbO5gXU.html , but a highly poetic Nightwish version of it. In terms of the band interpreting and performing the music anyone reading this will probably already be familiar with the level of musicianship in this band so, you know. Didn't expect anything less.

Marco's vocals made Endlessness my favorite song on the album. Overall, the album was filled with beautiful vocals along with beautiful symphonic music with a spattering of equally beautiful metal mixed in. The Nightwish that I have enjoyed since 2007 and 2 live concerts appears to be changing. For me, Tuomas genius was the main star of Human / Nature as beautiful music is everywhere. What is a no show is intensity and grit in the music and the vocals. Not even one song. Oh well. I'll just listen to more Phantom of the Opera.

With respect, I really do feel that you should attempt to review the songs from the second disc as well. I understand that those are instrumental tracks without lyrics, but tuomas and the others work so very hard on this, and it's the band's first album in 5 years. It would be a shame to miss out on all of their hard work that they did there. Please consider it. They really are wonderful songs.

Thanks for the Journey on this album, i enjoyed your reactions all the way!! did see it all yes.. Ok, lets evalute this album then,.. To me the Album is a masterpiece, and the main reasons for that is, that the lyrics are very intresting to dig in, and the vocals in each song, are very well performed in the sence of expressing the story told in that particular song, , the emotions to the songs are spot on, what i also like is that this album is new Nightwish sound, without not being Nightwish, I might do think Troy actually gets to much space, and Marko´s heavy voice is missing out, but ok this is first album from NW where Troy gets this, and im actually ok with this, just missing Marko´s heavy voice a bit, but you cant put everything on the album, you do have to choose what you want, and what to leave out right, and after all i really like it all.. I do think this is a very clever album composed by Tuomas, and i do respect that man even more after this one, and Floor is amazing, using her voice in various ways, lets just say, they all are Amazing here ok..lol To rank the songs on this album , is almost impossible to me, i might can say clearly my top 3 songs, and the rest could all be nr 4, so dont put to much in, what is on the buttom of this list..lol PAN HOW IS THE HEART SHOEMAKER MUSIC PROCESSION NOISE TRIBAL HARVEST ENDLESSNESS ALL THE WORKS OF NATURE WHICH ADORE THE WORLD Something like that.. TUOMAS COULD BE OUR NEXT KING OF THE WORLD!! i vote for him..lol

This is probably my 4th favourite from the album. My Top 3 are Tribal, Pan, and Shoemaker. Harvest is my least liked, but the 2nd half of it is really good. I love Disc 2 as well. Overall, a 98/100 for me, due to not enough solo Marco singing sections, and Harvest being a 4/5 in my opinion compared to every other song being a 5/5. My 2nd favourite album of all time, with my number 1 being Dimmu Borgir's "Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia" from 2001, which I give 100/100 (Flawless in my opinion, and atmospheric beyond belief, it takes you to another world).

For me, while a one from their beginning. This was a album, naturally I like the other albums, but this is more of liking. I know this is like, well, Nightwish, but the album is is for me more of a grower than a shower. Like some Trivium albums. First listen... this is pretty good...after 20 listenings, this album is sick, bro (not why as grown man I'm doing like a bro-things. :D ). I mean Trivium is very well presented and evolved, and very more complex earlier than when they started... but Nightwish too. That's whole lot of...semi-non-sense, but it is my view. This is new, not anything worse. And still love your passion while you're lipsyncing, adorable feat. Nothing to be ashamed. :)

Funny thing about that chorus melody, it's mostly only two notes, D and Eb, but the chords surrounding it are huge. Fm7, AbLyd, Bbsus2, Cmin, Ab, EbMaj7, Bm (!), B, Cmin, Ab, EbMaj7, Bb

This song reminds me a lot of Kashmir by Led Zeppelin. It’s both faster and slower with this half-time intro and the last part of the song going on.

I would love to see your reaction to Sleeping Sun from the 2016 Masters Of Rock concert. I don't see that one on your channel yet. It's a really nice slower song with a lot of good instrumentation and it's just relaxing to say the least.
