The only part about Morgans story I liked was how badass general grevious was.

My biggest complaint is that Barris should have either been killed by Vader or she should have met Ashoka again. Those are the two ways I wanted to see an end to Barris’s arc. I feel like these were the equivalent of B- clone wars episodes.

I really hate when the inquisitors show up because they are always so cartoonishly evil. I didn't think I would like the Elsbeth episodes, but then after the first episode I thought it was really building to something. But no, actually it just confirms that she was only just a petty tyrant...

I actually want to see the empires perspective, not the unending petty villany. The only redeemable aspects of these shorts was the fall of Dathomir and Thrawn.

It was nice to see grievous again and in that design as well, but we needed more actual you know "empire" tales.

This whole miniseries was legit built to have a confrontation between Vader and Barriss. Yet they failed to include any sort of interaction between the 2 characters...

Seeing Barris Offee quickly become good again made no sense. She literally killed an innocent and betrayed her own friend. It's already been shown that she was willing to do bad things because of how she believed the Jedi were turned corrupt. It would have made more sense and been badass to see Barris Offee go full villain and be an inquisitor fully and throughout.

First off this shouldn't have been named Tales of the Empire. It should have been named something else. Morgan is not a member of the empire, she's a Magistrate who provided resources and designs to Thrawn, for power. However, I was honestly intrigued by this ark and will give it a 7/10. Bariss joins the inquisitors only to turn good again. And becomes some kind of wise monk living in the mountains, she then stupidly gets stabbed in the stomach while talking to the fourth sister and presumably lives. (Don't even get me started on Disney's Lightsabers.) This is the second time we've been marketed and sold a story told from the point of view of the dark side, just for the character to turn good again at a flip of a switch and I'm sick of it. She bombed the Jedi temple, killing Clones, Temple Workers, and Jedi. She then killed her accomplice and framed her best friend for all of it. She was a full-blown villain, and we don't see that in this. I suppose one could argue she had some character development in jail, but if so we should have seen that. Instead, she's back to being her regular compassionate self that we saw back in season 2 of TCW and not only that but presumably meets up and reconciles with Ahsoka off-screen. This ARK pissed me off, Imma give this story Ark a 4/10 I hope the Acolyte doesn't follow the same narrative and we actually get a story told from the dark side, but im really not optimistic about the chance of that.

I agree it was mid. The Grievous part stole the show! Vader sitting like he was on the crapper was a huge disappointment.

Of course it is mid, it is about Bariss and some nightsister when it SHOULD have been Tales of the Sith. The Training of Maul, the tragedy of Plagueis, The birth of the Rule of Two. Way mroe potential.

What I don’t get is the process that Barriss went through to become an inquisitor. All of the stories of the other inquisitors are either tortured into submission or have given their devotion to the emperor like the Grand inquisitor did. Barriss went through none and did none of these things. What doesn’t make sense to me either is she kills her rival in the arena BY CHOKING HIM, but then she is still justifying about this path she is on in the next episode? We’ve seen that any inquisitors that show mercy or any tip of compassion are sniffed out and dealt with by Vader or another inquisitor fairly quickly. You’re telling me Vader didn’t sense that immediately when he was in the room with her? That she was not fully committed yet.

Dave Filoni seems to be the type of director that either knocks it out of the park or takes a cool concept and just executes it in the most uninteresting blandest way. They were better off just leaving it at the end of that 5th episode.

out of all of the awesome characters in the empire they choose bariss and morgan. we could’ve had episodes focused on vader in his new suit, tarkin, even thrawn climbing the ranks..

Tales of the jedi was way better. Tales of the empire would have been cool if we got an arc of vader hunting down jedi. Or if we got to see the creation of grevious. His start as a warlord to when he gets into the crash to when he gets turned into a weapon for the sith

I was expecting at least a speech from vader or a Vader-Barris interaction. I am really underwhelmed. Grievous was probably the best part of this show. He still doesn't utilize his extra arms and legs enough but at least he uses them.

Morgan just needed the one episode and that's it, the 2 episodes for grand inquisitior and the last 3 for bariss

To me this was not the tails of the “empire”. There was no focus members of the empire like an admiral, moff, or even stormtrooper. This was tales of characters associated with the empire. It was just ehh nothing special 🤷‍♂️

This was incredibly rushed to the point I felt like I was watching an E3-esk footage of an upcoming show rather than a show itself.

Morgan’s story was the biggest let down. We don’t learn anything knew about her personality and what is driving her. I know she wants revenge but on who? Grevious and Dooku are dead so who is see seeking revenge on? We don’t really see her fall in the last 2 episodes she just already is a bad person. The 3rd is the worst as it was just a prelude to the Mandalorian and showed nothing knew about her personality

The issue with Morgan's story is that after episode 1, they just skipped most of her life like instesd of showing How and why she joined the Empire they skipped it to show how she met Thrawn, then once again skipped it to show a prelude to the episode of Mando I also didn't mind Bariss story but the conclusion ending was mid, like Filoni waited years to use her for that

Disney should follow up with "Tales of More Surviving Jedi" just to show how meaningless Luke Skwyalker in hiding actually is.

The animation was great. The story was okay. I'm pretty sure the grand plan that Morgan had was reviving the Nightsister clan with the Great Mothers.

Im happy with tales if the empire, I foreshadowed barriss being a healer but I’m highly upset with the ending. Why leave us on the same exact cliff hanger of “did Barriss Offee die or not”

Coming off of the masterpiece that was the Bad Batch’s ending, this certainly left something to be desired.

The last thing I want is Bariss in live action now, how did they not even show show us how Vader felt? They didn't even have a conversation between The Grand Inquisitor and Bariss talking about him turning against the Jedi order because of her...

The Barris episodes could have been so good! Disney botched a perfect opportunity again! Episodes 4 & 5 were on track but they let it with #6. Gracious giggled too much. He was better in his very first appearance as a silent killer in the original Clone Wars cartoons. (and he looked better in gray & white than tan & black like in later appearances)

I knew this would be mid from the get go. They could have told the story of Vader's hand picked criminal squadron of ace pilots, the time Imperial officers used Boba Fett to root out corruption within their ranks and start a war with a neighboring planetary power at the same time, when a rookie imperial officer rose through the ranks to earn his troops loyalty only for them to turn on him when he discovered he had force powers.....So many stories only seen in comics or novels, and instead we got Barriss who was interesting for one episode of Clone wars and a Night Sister whose appearance in Ahsoka diminished her threat level compared to when she appeared in Mando S2.

There's a reason why these shorts should be full-length episodes.

It's *strange* that Filoni chose to write dialogue that has Barriss referring to Ahsoka as a "friend" when we haven't seen her attempt to make amends for betraying her.

I don't know why they are so hell bent on giving the spotlight to random characters. The Barriss arc was a perfect way to include Vader a lot, but they did not. And the Morgan Elsbeth arc was useless nobody cares. They should have done young Thrawn or something.

what i got from Barris was that she ended her last years with how she believed the Jedi should of helped others, her view of how Jedi should of been.

I think the point of the Morgan Elsbeth episodes was her anger and hate against the universe and how her people and mother were ripped from her and burned down and that everyone else should deserve the same fate if they don't appreciate her protection. However, it doesn't help it's Morgan Elsbeth and barely anyone cares about that character. She appeared in one episodes almost 4 years, then was killed off 7 months go and probably will never be heard from again aside from some comics that may appear, but her story is done. Ventress however would've been a much better candidate, since the show wasn't strictly during the Empire era, where her backstory with Kai Narrec is shown and how she dueled Anakin and caused the scar on her eye.

Revenge against Palpatine as ultimately he was the one who ordered the destruction of Dathomir. helping Thrawn to replace him on the throne What was her power she controlled the corvus system which was rich in resources that were vital to war production which may be revealed in a secret fleet for Thrawn which Pelleon may have been looking after.

I honestly really enjoyed Tales of the Empire. I just really want to see more of Barriss. I hope this is isn't the end of her.

The Bariss's story was ok not great like Dooku's or Ahsokas but was passable. My issue is who tf chose Morgan as the second person taking the show slot, like she was a good character but there are so many better characters that they can use for that slot.

Bariss was a Jedi healer. I myself love the story. She rediscovered the light and became the beautiful, peaceful force user she is.

To be fair I enjoyed Morgan's character way more than in the whole Ahsoka series. Barris story is mid, I enjoyed the first and second episode (this scene in village was brutal), but the end was kinda weird.

It would have been better if Barris got killed off by Darth Vader after she learned about his real identity.

I was so hyped to see Barriss again and left really disappointed... There were so many ways to tie her character back to the events that happened. Her inquisitor trial could've been to kill Luminara herself as we know they used her body to lure jedis. Barriss could have realized then just how far all this went and deciding to leave the inquisitors again and go on a path of redemption... Trying to find Ahsoka and seek her help and forgivness to try to make amends for everything she's done. It would have been the perfect circle and given closure to the Barriss/Luminara timeline as well as Barris/Ahsoka. Instead we were left with a Barriss that seems just bland, doesn't acknowledge her past actions very much. Just blindly follows the inquisitors and act like she's too good for them when really she is a terrorist... It just didn't feel like the Barriss we were left with. All this to then have a big time jump again and miss all the actual interesting redemption part of her story. I'm usually an absolute fan of Dave Filoni's work but this is the first time I'm actually disappointed and think this storyline had major flaws...

The episodes were short and needed more time to expand the story for both but eventually the endings were good. I liked that they told us what happened to barris and many of us didn’t know what happened to her and only speculated. Wish we could have gotten more but it’s good enough I’m grateful. Should have been tales of Barris tho 😅

The Barris episodes felt like a lesson to me: No matter what horrible acts you’ve done in the past you can always chose to change and do better, Barris went from blowing up a temple killing many innocents to later on becoming someone who protects the innocent. If she can change than so can anyone else.

Just gotta say that the duel between the jedi, barris and the other inquisitor was an incredible fight.

That’s it that it what is so special about Morgan Elizabeth. Inventing the Tie Fighters. No long and complex backstory that’s it nothing more.

It’s also become quite clear that this short story format is awful. They don’t even really tell stories, they just show vaguely connected events and action scenes. These episodes feel like they’re written by children. The storylines are so simplistic and unoriginal.

Everyone's story doesn't have to be epic. Some of us just like the fact that we finally got more character development.

Not having her speak to Vadar rematch him or speak to Ahsoka is just dire. They could have done it but chose this… it’s just a slap in the face. No idea why they would do this.

I thought the ending to her story was unique. Not every jedi returns in a spectacular prequel level comeback or death. I dislike what she initially did to ahsoka, but she had good intentions, incorrect as that might be. In her mind she couldn't save the Jedi Order, but she could atleast bring someone out of the darkness and turmoil. I fully expected her to kill the inquisitor.
