So I hear there's a heatwave going on at the east coast. For any parents of chickens, I have a neat little trick that we here in hot hot hot Texas use. I get some of the aluminum feeders or even aluminum disposable pans, put a brick or a large rock in it, and fill with water to just above the brick/rock. They will eventually get in it to cool off. Took mine about 2 days a few summers ago to understand that it was there for them to stand on the brick, and since chickens cool through their feet, this works wonders. I have 4 pans out all summer. The only negative is that the water has to be changed every day because they just poo where they stand! This may not be the first time I posted this in Amanda's comments, but my understanding is that this summer is unusually hot for a lot of people and animals.

Perspective is everything. I think it’s insane how people work in a cubicle and spend 2-3 hours just driving to work. I’d rather be around animals. There’s no judgment whatsoever with them, they’re a mirror for the love you give them, just magnified. Have you ever actually seen someone who’s insane? You are far from it. People tend to use the insults that hurt them to hurt others. So the insane insult was actually given to them. Insanely happy would be the only true use of that word in your life. 😘

Do your emus use the pool when your not around? Mine only use it when I'm filling it and spraying them. As soon as the hose gets turned off they walk away from their pool and won't use it again!

Actually, your videos demonstrate how to deal with the insanity that’s around you with humor. Your patience and caring and understanding of those with special needs but have burned bridges with every mental health practitioner is s gift. Especially with the one I will call K for privacy reasons. K obviously hears military choppers coming for her at random times, mostly just when she sees Amanda…whom K is sure must have summoned them. And Stanley loves modeling fashion and is not averse to cross-dressing…probably in an effort to keep Karen away. He knows how much she hates that. It goes on and on…each resident on the farm has its own handbook. Girl, I hope you have helpers who just don’t want to be on camera! I would volunteer in a heartbeat if I weren’t way down here in Texas! 😕
