​@@dpchiko17 you get extra time in between swap and 10 min is more than enough to cook those wings. You would assume Ben as a chef would have some sense and understand that but he blatantly ignored it. Also it turned, even 10 mins wasnt necessary so it was Ben's fault for sure.

Technically it was a pass, but it was -very- close to being a fail just because they did so little overall. It's a dish that you'd give to your nephews and nieces to make to introduce them to the world of cooking/baking/etc. They're making something, but only barely. I would have been more impressed with a more technical meringue, or if they had stuck with the original idea perhaps. I wouldn't have given a meringue badge to anyone other than Jamie, though. He's the only one that actually made meringue. That's not a fault of the other two, it's simply how it played out. I think this is why James and Ben compliment each other. They're sort of yin and yang.

I feel like generally James is harsher judging results but more forgiving about the process where Ben is the reverse. He critiques and gives a a bunch of constructive criticism when they are working but is less judgey of the end result.

But I feel like if he only gave the badge to Jamie it would be rewarding a bad behaviour. So giving one to all of them is the only way to level the playing field. I’d have rated the dish a fail though

Communication was fine. Barry came in and knew exactly what the game plan was, he just ignored the communication entirely and decided to throw everything off on purpose.

Honestly probably could have just brought the ingredients over, shared his knowledge, made pastry first, and still have deserved a badge more than Barry if we're going by that logic.

@@MommahKat A teamwork/communication badge would've made FAR more sense for this. It would have been unfair if anyone has missed out on a badge just because they hadn't been "lucky" enough to go first, but also Barry got a badge and didn't even touch the meringue, which also seems unfair.

I mean, based on what he did, Barry shouldn't have gotten one. But I think since it wasn't his fault he couldn't do anything with the meringue, he could've gotten a little pop quiz about meringues to prove his knowledge or something like that. Because as it stands, his badge has the least value in everyone's eyes and that's kinda unfair to him. Even though his idea was very silly.
