We checked off a major bucket list item and explored a ghost town for the first time! Animas Forks is located 12 miles away from Silverton, CO down a 12 mile very rocky road into the San Juan Mountains. At over 11,000 feet of elevation, this abandoned mining town was once one of the highest towns in the nation. There are 10 buildings remaining including the mine! We explore all of them.
