LIVE IN LIWA is a series of intimate live performances that feature a selection of popular artists who will perform at Liwalize It Surf Camp to a limited audience of only 200 to 300 people only. Each performance will be professionally filmed and documented for a webisode series with its own designated KZfaq channel.
One objective of LIVE IN LIWA is to provide a new arena for artists to showcase their music at a unique venue situated on a surf resort that has a natural backdrop of pine trees and traditional Filipino Kubos providing a rustic tropical feel. The stage design will also be made of natural materials such as a wooden deck and bamboo trellis further complimenting true Filipino culture and architecture.
The primary objective of LIVE IN LIWA is to provide assistance to the local community’s efforts in preserving the pristine environmental conditions of their beach town, which is now in grave threat due to the negative impact of sudden tourism influx. This sudden tourism boom has lead to massive amounts of plastic waste, which is destroying the natural beauty and ecology of the town. Unfortunately, there is not enough funding to provide proper waste management facilities and because of this LIVE IN LIWA will commit 5% of its profits from tickets sales to the San Felipe Resort Owners Association who will use these funds to provide deputized environmental marshals to make sure that visitors refrain from littering, the placement of eco awareness signs, segregation trash bins and a town compost pit where biodegradable and compostable trash can be processed into soil for the township.
LIVE IN LIWA will also dedicate another 5% percent of its profit from tickets sales to assist TRIBES AND TRECKS, which is a social tourism enterprise directed towards the rehabilitation of the Aeta tribes in Zambales assisting them with agriculture to make them become a self sustaining community.
LIVE IN LIWA is also a ZERO WASTE AND ZERO PLASTIC event. We guarantee that all materials used at our events will be composted in the town compost site or recycled.
