Last Soulfly show I went to was at Gramercy in 2014... Max's kid doesn't compare to the days of Roy, when Soulfly was a percussion based band. Rizzo has kept them alive though.

Liam Sweeney exactly, anyone can be the bassist for the band. But it takes a special kind of drummer to keep the focus of the band in time and this kid doesn’t cut it. Rizzo is a very talented musician and if he were to leave, then Soulfly would suck more than they do now. Max has slowed down a lot over the years that his guitar playing is shit and only carries it as a prop at shows. It’s pathetic and sad on what has become of them.

On thought the singer had dreads and bad teeth...Please advise

Yes, the past 10 years Sepultura has been trying harder, but that's only because for the first 15 years after his departure, Max made it seem like it was easy. He had the most relevant sound during the whole new metal wave and right after that. Soulfly only started to sound stale after 2010 when prog and djent became prominent. Even so, his sound on both bands, Soulfly and CC , has historically been more impactful and more faithful to the groove/thrash/death vibes of his Sepultura era. Only with Kairos did Sepultura started catching up with that. I would put them on equal footing looking only at the present, but not historically. But I'll admit post-1996 Sepultura's music has always been deeper than Max's songs.

Yes, but he was never a guitarist per se. Dude used to play 3 strings coz it was fun.

@@gxscore2911he played 6 string originally but he once snapped the E and B strings at the same time and instead of replacing them he left them off as he thought it looked unique and he rarely used them anyway.

Saw him a month ago with CC tribute to Arise and you're right but i think creating the riffs/music for the albums is like 75% Max. He just doesn't play live anymore.
