Installed this on my taco last weekend man the difference is undeniable and I only did it to all doors, as soon as I got in and started driving I noticed the big difference. It’s a fun project but it’s time consuming but the end result is so worth it because it makes the speakers sound better and blocks off most of the road noise. Highly recommend for anyone even if you don’t have a taco.

Great video! I just bought my first Tacoma a 2012 TRD Sport and when test driving it I noticed the cab was really loud from the road/motor noise. I want to be able to use the hands free phone feature without yelling. 😂 So I started looking into how to reduce the noise. How much much would you say this project cost you and about how many sq feet did you use for a 4 door? Thanks!

nice vid. Good job guys. Very practical, unlike some of these other stupid videos I see of people doing crazy stuff. Ya, I would slice that carpet to remove it. I may/may not use it as a template too. But, I usually sound dampen the metal under the carpet, and then add better insulation, like cork board, Eco Cork, or some combination of such. I usually will take the dampening and lay out in the sun, if possible, to warm it up, soften it, and sometimes will heat up the inside of the cabin too. Then reinstall the carpet without the Toyota BS fluff. Or, I have even seen some guys remove the carpet underlying/underlayment and replace it with actual carpeting insulation from Home Depot, and it surprisingly works great. I've used ¼" cork board and Eco Cork underlayment with great results. I also replace door seals, etc., and cover up the door holes with roofing metal glazing/whatever--it's thin aluminum, or get the steel, and then use felt to seal it to the door and screw it to connect it. I usually will also spray the back side with undercoating and let it dry over night before installing.

A year later, anything you would do different? I think I am ready to tackle this project once it warms up in the spring. Two things I am considering doing different is to cover the holes in the doors (where the door panel attaches...inner skins?) and i don’t think i will remove the center console. If it’s possible to remove just the rear portion of the center console, i might do that or just get material as close as possible. (It doesn’t look like you did the sides under the console from the ebrake forward). Thanks for a great video, would never attempt without seeing it done first!!!

I wanted to sound damping the firewall where the carpet stops and the insulation starts and runs up the firewall. Where you able to see if you could get up around the firewall to install damping. I did some sound audio readings and most the sounds is coming from the engine via the firewall, I think that is the the 1st or 2nd place that needs more sound insulation. Do you remember looking around or underneath that part of the truck when you added everything?

Awesome video per usual dude. Just wondering if it's possible to lift the carpet just under the front foot area without removing the entire seat, as I have an access cab and only want to deaden around the transmission. If you have any insight for me that would be awesome!

@JesseRizo Жыл бұрын
What’s up man thanks for watching and for all the support :)!!! And for that I think regardless u might have to still take out the seats :/ unfortunately unless ur down to stick ur hand in but the material is crazy sharp like a razor blade on the sides so I don’t think you’ll want to slice your fingers

To be honest that I’m not sure I just know I got two boxes of the sound deadening material (I left links in the description box) lol and I got two boxes of the thermal insulation from the same brand,but I still have sheets left over those I’ll probably leave for my roof under the headliner

It can take more time but if you write down the order of removal and make notes, take pictures and such it will really help during the install portion if your not used to taking things apart and putting them back together.

Damn that's a lot of work. Why didn't Toyota just lay the sound deadening when they had everything bare.

Since you're doing an audio upgrade you probably should have ran your power ground RCA and remote cables while you had everything apart

In today’s video we’re gonna go ahead and show you how to install noico. But first were gonna go ahead and show you in extreme detail how to disassemble a super dirty Tacoma. Next we’re gonna go ahead and install some thermal insulation
