Yeah, it does really help, shame it's so heavy. Although we can't turn the van into a musical instrument anymore. 😜

Hi Guys, Great videos, well explained! I am also starting the conversion of my van and I would like to know where you got the interior detailed layout plans of the van ? If you made them yourself, are you making them available ? I received the Van Conversion Layout Planner but those are not as detailed... Thanks for your help, great content ! :D

Hi Adrien, great to hear you are starting your conversion. 😀 For the detailed Spriter Layout templates, we did make them ourselves (by manually measuring the whole van 😂) and yes we are planning on making them available, but they are not out yet. We are creating a layout planner with measurements included, it is in its final annotation stages so hopefully, we can bundle up the lot and release it. Might start a launch page so people can sign up for updates on our progress - I'll look into it (thanks for the reminder) 😉

@@FreedomStrider Hi Polly, Sam :) Thanks for answering. I was too impatient and started 3d templating the Van too :D Would be happy to compare (measure everything by hands is indeed time consuming). Love what you do and would be happy to share more ! If you can through Belgium once, don't hesitate to ping me :)

3D templating the van is soooo tricky, as soon as I think I got one side configured correctly, when I try and join all the van sides together there is always something jumping out of alignment. Would love to compare notes, feel free to ask us. 🙂

Great video! I'm curious though, any idea why only 30%? Is that a manufacturer recommendation?

Thanks 🙂 30% is the manufacture's recommendation and as far we understand it - 30% is the minimum coverage necessary for the mat to actually deaden the material. You could add more and that will sound deaden it a bit more however the weight added will be extortionate for a van build.

We're nearly up to date it's maybe a couple of weeks since behind where we truly are since we have to sort out and edit the videos. We do post more up to date stuff on Instagram (@freedomstrider), Patreon and the other socials, all @freedomstrider but we try to keep KZfaq as up to date and in the running as possible. That way if anyone has suggestions we might not be too far along to take them on board as well 🥳

thats a lot of extra weight, if you use Bostik flashing tape you'll find it's about a third of the weight and does the same thing and it's a poop load cheaper as well, I think to sound deaden my van it was about fifty quid.
