Moog One Analog Polyphonic 8 Voice Synthesizer - tinyurl.com/y2nbmq4y
Moog One Analog Polyphonic 16 Voice Synthesizer -tinyurl.com/yxqekezt
The Moog One Analog Polyphonic Synthesizer is Moog’s first polyphonic analog synth in over 30 years and it’s certainly been worth the wait. This is a tri-timbral, polyphonic analog synthesizer which pushes the boundaries of analog synths further than ever before. Available in 8 and 16 voice configurations, the Moog One features the most powerful synthesizer architecture ever employed in a Moog instrument. With its sturdy, premium construction and expansive controls and sound options, the Moog One will give you classic Moog analog sounds and so much more.
The Moog One has three newly developed triangle core analog voltage-controlled oscillators (VCOs) for each voice. You can adjust the output of each oscillator by adjusting both the selectable triangle/sawtooth wave as well as the variable width pulse wave.
These waves can be adjusted beyond traditional oscillator designs with rise/fall time on the triangle wave and reset phase on the sawtooth. Blending the two waves provides sounds you don’t commonly hear from analog synths. The Moog One oscillator section also features hard sync, analog ring modulation, and FM offering huge options for analog sound.

This is a great walk through of how to actually use the Moog One. For some reason most videos talk around it, I really got how to use this synth from this particular guide

There's SO much to take in when sat in front of the One, you almost don't know where to begin - thanks for taking the time to break things down a bit and give a quick tour of its main features and facilities, that'll certainly help us later when we finally get brave enough to dive into it a bit deeper (...eventually!)

I second that. we both now how this ends, like the "synth psychopaths" we are, soon we will have to make this fantasy a reality and spend the $8K.

considering much less capable synths cost $5k (Prophet-5 Rev4), $8k is competitively priced considering this is the most advanced and thought out analog synth ever made, and you will likely never fully master it its complexity.

Could you post the preset files that he created in the video? Some great stuff here especially the kraftwerk sounding thing at the end. Cultural benefit of having a device where you can share preset files...

It’s tempting but somehow seems so hard to make usable patches on the One...

Pitch Accurate agreed. Haven’t heard any bread and butter sounds yet. I’ll take a prophet 5, obxa or something that has great raw sounds rather than a bohemian synth that’s 90% technology . Haven’t heard one great sound yet
@RayyMusik
@RayyMusik 5 жыл бұрын
Not agreed. Of course you can make very simple, e.g. Minimoog-like, albeit polyphonic patches on the One. But the One *can* go far beyond the Mini, the P5 or OB-Xa. That demos tend to showcase the extended features is quite normal. Why should one demo bread & butter sounds? Every synth is 90% technology, btw. ;)
@PitchAccurate
@PitchAccurate 5 жыл бұрын
octopus34 it doesn’t have to be bread and butter but a good patch imo starts you up hearing melodies or get musical ideas. Somehow the patches I’ve heard don’t inspire. In this video for example it starts off well with drifting out of tune oscillators but as soon at they start the arp it sounds boring and when adding modulations to various destinations it quickly becomes non musical noise that they don’t really understand or can control. I usually don’t mind modular noise but this seems a bit thin and annoying...

@John Baker I had a chance to compare the Model D and two mini moogs, blind. They all sounded different, especially the filter. In the end I preferred one of the moogs and the model D to the second moog. I love cork sniffers who think vintage circuitry is alway better. Old wiring for light fixtures doesn’t give better light, it’s just a fire hazard.

Most of the analog synth demos I see are just someone making a bunch of noise. Nobody ever seems to demo how these things can be used to make actual music. While I do enjoy seeing experimentation with the oscillators, I would really like to see someone make real music. Synths are used in most modern music and rang many different genres, but we don't see that demoed. All we ever get in product demos are sound effects and atmospheric space music.

I've got a video I made of some Trance using all 3 timbers of my One. A quick track that uses 1 timber as bass, and the other 2 are layered for a an arppegiated line complemented by a Vsynth GT for some acid lines, Omnisphere 2 for background ambiance and a lead. Give it a listen, let me know what ya think kzfaq.info/get/bejne/g591ocR_tty3gWg.html

behringer clone hahaha you'll be waiting a long time. But whatever wishing gets you over not being able to own a one lol their stuff cheap sounding rubbish supplying who can't afford the real. There's a reason Moog can charge top price for there instruments and have done for so many years. You get what you pay for.! haha "I'll wait for behriner to do the one clone" 😂😂

I love moog. Love. Own a few of them. This synth is a failure in my opinion. Wrong sound, weak filters. Not worth the money and the hipe. Listen to the memorymoog, model d, voyager, subsequent 37, grandmother. MOOG'S. not this one. I know... i know.. Unbelievble spec! But sound wise, not worth the money. Sorry, i know i will make a lot of people angry.

Ok we get it! We already know that Moog one has tons of modulation capabilities. Can't we have a demo of a great brass sound, plucked sound or nice reso pad! Modulation and effects and a bunch of useless effects and he says that nice. Play music with it not sound effects please.
