As you know, the lyrics of this song describe the deep sadness of Korean history so well that many Koreans cry when they listen to this song. The name of the last queen of Joseon, the main character of this song, is Empress Myeongseong. She was an intelligent queen who served Joseon. She became an obstacle to Japan's attempt to invade Joseon, and because of that, Japan mercilessly raped and tortured her to death on October 8, 1895. Not only that, The Japanese soldiers moved the body of the queen of a country to a nearby forest, placed it on a pyre and burned it, and even lied that Empress Myeongseong was killed by her own people of Joseon. A music video was produced for this song, and I remember crying several times while watching this music video when I was young. I think you will be able to feel and understand this song more deeply when you listen to it along with the music video. Thank you for choosing this song.

There is a real history of Japan invading Korea. There was a case where Japanese samurai murdered South Korean Queen Myeongseong. This was aired as a drama. It's the theme song for that drama. Koreans are more saddened by this song. The music video of this song is more impressive.

이 노래를 듣고 눈물 흘리는 한국사람은 노래에 감동 받아서 눈물 흘리는것도 있지만 옛날에 일본한테 받은 아픔 때문에 흘리는 눈물도 있습니다 제가 영어를 못해서 설명은 못드리지만 대한민국 사람이라면 마음이 아픈 노래 이지요 ㅠㅡㅠ

본인이 원하시는 리액션이 안나와도 실망하지 마시고 너무 기대하지마세요.^^; 외국인들중 일제치하의 한국 정서와 역사,문화를 완벽히 이해도 못할뿐더러 공부한다 해도 감정이입 못하더라고요. 특히 소위 말하는 제 1세계,2세계 사람들이 더 그래요. 그렇게 예전 일에 아직도 원한 품는 한국이 이상하다고 도리어 욕먹는 경우가 많습니다.ㅜㅜ;; 구한말 우리와 일본관계가 유대인과 나치스독일과 비슷하다고 얘기하면 간신히 이해할까 말까해요. 맥스앤수지같이 완벽히 한국 문화와 역사와 노래의 뒷배경과 가수에 대한 기초지식을 이해하는 리액셔너는 거의 없다고 보시면 됩니다.

많은 리액셔너들 중에서 구독자가 무려 56만명이 넘으신 분은 첨 보는데, 왜 구독자가 이렇게나 많은지 오늘 한글자막이 달린 영상을 제대로 보니 이해가 되네요.(그동안 영어를 못해서 알음알음 알아들었던 ㅋㅋ) 무대와 조명연출에 코멘트를 달아주는게 특히 참 차별화된 리액셔너인거 같아요. 저도 불후명곡 보면서 제작진들의 무대 연출로 인해 가수의 목소리가 극대화 되어 관객들에게 전달해주는 점이 좋았는데, 집어주는 리액셔너를 아직 못봐서 ㅎㅎ 영상 잘 보고 갑니다~(i cant speak eng very well, sorry haha. i just said your good reactioner :-) really!

Your reaction is very interesting because you also cover the lighting and the theatrical stage arrangement as well. I think the red light that appeared with the crescendo of the orchestra in the beginning brings us back to the tragic historical background behind the music. It reminds us how the last Korean empress was assaasined during the Japanese colonial period. Thank you so much for the in depth reaction.
