hi, i bought v115 a few days ago. radio is good but when I put sd card screen says WAITING... 1 seconds than screen says CAN NOT FIND DEVICE. I used 2gb and 16gb sd cards. both of them is working on laptop and on my dslr camera. What can I do? please send me a solution

Dude you don't have to turn off the radio when testing the other and also you have to have the same sample and try to make the volume higher.

why they don't add dab+ function to these radios? thus they would be perfect. I want to ask you experts , will fm be closed forever? I read that in Norway all fm channels closed and there s only dab channels. fm is old, dab is future, right?

I have the tivdeo version on the retekess-V115 and the tecsun pl-310et. The V115 is a great radio for utility. The small form factor and the ability to record on the radio is great. The SW reception is meh but that is because it gets overloaded by FM/AM stations in my area. It is cheap thou, so for a first radio when you are not sure you like the hobby it is great! The tecsun is a better shortwave radio and has more sensitivity, the ETA feature is great the instruction is better than the V115 but you can't record or play MP3, the v115 has "hidden" features that really are not well-explained features (like the scanning). The tecsun has a signal meter and better battery life. both are good radio but for different reasons. I take the 310 camping to get more stations but use the V115 to record interesting thing I find. hope you enjoy the radios!

Totally agree: both radios are good for different reasons. But i think, despite some of having some shortcomings, the Tecsun is at another level than the V115. I also use it mainly for recording purposes and to have it in my office at work ;) Thanks for watching! pedro.

@@DXPedro Hello, colleagues! I'm comparing my V115 with my Tecsun PL-398mp. The size of the magnetic antenna V115 for receiving the AM band is 3 cm. Tecsun has 14 cm . But despite this, their night reception on AM is almost the same!

@@adamwest3637 sorry the tecsun pl310 does not. But they made new model that has a few more features like ssb that does i believe.

@@adamwest3637 Tecsun is powered by AA finger batteries or 1.2V AA nickel batteries. Supports battery charging function. The Tecsun PL-330 has a BL-5C lithium polymer battery, as does the Retekess V115.

I have the v115....it doesn't start to sound good until you get the volume up and passed 20. The passive radiator works very well placed a few inches away from a wall or something to reflect off of. At low volumes...I am not certain you can really tell much of a difference between any small radio speakers. ps. just checked current pricing....the Tecsun is 3 times the price of the V115. Not quite an even match up.

@@DXPedro The sound quality of the V115 is worse than that of the Perfeo Sound Ranger. Perfeo is even smaller.

Does pl310et have Back-lit keys for night time use?

No, unfortunately it doesn't. In fact, almost none of the Tecsun radios have backlit keys, including the high end S-2000 tabletop receiver. Backlit keys will make a radio even more expensive, use more battery power and perhaps cause additional circuitry interference. The only Tecsun model that has backlit keys is the PL-398MP with stereo speakers but it's not a dedicated SW receiver like the PL-330.

Precisely. I’m more concerned about the interference that might cause. Sangean is plagued by it.

@@DXPedro Hi Pedro, not long after I made that comment I discovered that the dual speaker Tecsun PL-398MP actually has backlit keys! There are few reviews on this model though and it's not commonly mentioned as the PL-310ET or the PL-330 . I'm not sure why the PL-398MP is the only model with backlit keys but as you've mentioned, it may have interference issues like some Sangean radios.

If you are interested in fm dx, go with the tecsun pl-310et. But Retekess sounds much better for music, tecsun sound is tinny on this model.

@@1michelmarques indeed: the drain is very little. even if you dont use the radio for months, batteries (rechargeables in my case) last for ever.

Olá Sidney! O tecsun é incomparavelmente superior ao Retekess. Mas se procuras apenas um radio para FM barato, Retekess é o caminho. $15 contra os $40 que custou o tecsun. O único defeito que aponto nos radios tecsun em geral, é ausência de RDS. Não entendo porque não têm. Obrigado por assistires. Boa semana.

Your comparison is apples and oranges, you get what you pay for, I got my Retekess v 115 for $19 in the US, can't get the 310 for that price, the 310 has a bigger speaker, so yes it will sound fuller duh! But it doesn't have record function or mp3 playback. So in my opinion V115 wins!

I have v115 and lots of others, I must admit that my v115 is terrible at all bands, even FM where at 107 mhz it renders a rattling noise instead of a station. AM band is the worst because the ferrite rod is shorter than 2 cm((( But the worst thing is its navigation. Without a turning wheel any radio is useless, anyone will quickly get bored with pressing buttons and searching stations. Its function of recording on a tf flashcard leaves much to be desired, sometimes the system halts and one needs to restart the radio. Maybe it is the problem of my firmware, but there are lots of other far better radios for even a lover price, for example, Tecsun R9012. It is analog and it is magnificent at all bands!

I disagree. In my town the radio stations are very hard to lock-in and the v115 is perfect for me. I can go straight to my station...and it stays there. I don't have to constantly adjust the dial to find that correct position...or fight off other near by stations to find the one i want. I prefer to hit the seek button or direct pad and go right to the station I want...rather than fight the dial and overlapping reception. To each his own.

I think it’s ok-ish and that’s about it. recording over 30m leaves the file unreadable to the likes of audacity. It fails to pick signals without interference where other devices pick nicely. I’m ok with it, but it’s not a dreamy device. Thanks for stopping by👌🏼
