Ever since I fell into the rhythm game rabbit hole I have been seeing this game making the rounds on my recommended feed. So I played it and made a video about it. Man I gotta go back and get good.

I started playing this around early/mid july this year after getting over the initial intimidation factor which plagued me for months. Idk if the experience of years of stepmania helped me but I went from playing 7-10s (to get a feel of the game) to already being 9th dan in the span of a few months! I'm saving up for a controller so I can play sdvx cloud (or USC since I tried on keyboard too)

Honestly, Sound Voltex is like my go-to game when the maimai machines are down-- especially since most other rhythm games are just DDR clones, with the exception of jubeat, which I just don't vibe with personally. It's pretty fun, and I know that some of my friends are really into it! (A shame they aren't into maimai as well, since I need more people to play with, haha.)

got to try SDVX (HH) today. Quite interesting and fun, though only problem was that it was a Japanese system so understanding what does what took some figuring out, and navigating the songs was also not the easiest because of the system language. This reminds me of a little bit of DJ Hero another rhythm game that tries to make you feel like a DJ. since they both use knobs and the tapping is simple but combined with another mechanic that makes you multitask a separate lane of sorts that gives charts with potential to become more complicated.

@luigifan4585

Dealing with the knobs isn't as precise as the way you're probably thinking they handle in gameplay. The game only detects if the knob is being turned in a certain direction when the laser is moving left or right, no matter how fast or slow you turn the knob.

I got a few questions since I’m getting into this considering how much I enjoyed playing the cab when I got to try it at CAX recently. 1. Is there a vertical monitor you can recommend for games like this/groove coaster/shmups? 2. Outside of the $10 month fee are there any reg fees or other hidden costs? 3. When/how long/how frequent are the songpack sales roughly? 4. How much space does it take on a computer and can it run on Mac? Come to think of it, that kind of is a ton of questions but any help is super appreciated!!

@@FNWeeaboo I am a pianist. Nostalgia boosts my confidence to try practicing harder techniques in actual piano, such as arpeggios and jumps. In my opinion, Nostalgia is very satisfying to play, especially the harder charts. In contrast, SDVX is less satisfying on harder charts. Nostalgia is also very calming, and the songs are just absolutely breathtaking. At the same time, I think Nostalgia is a lot harder than SDVX. For me, Nostalgia just hit the right spot~ when I put on my headphones and play Nostalgia, it feels like I'm lost in my own world.

Question, my local cabinet only had Light Start, which punishes you for trying harder songs, by failing you and using up your 3 song plays. This coupled with the massive song library and no english localization makes this a bit of a nightmare. Is there a way to enable standard start or do certain cabinets have them? There are multiple cabinets at my round 1 arcade, perhaps others have Standard Start? Is it worth checking? But more importantly, are there translations of the filter menu so I can actually find a song thats hard enough to entertain and challenge me but not overwhelm me and also in a genre I like within short time we get to pick a song? Was my first time playing, wasted like 3 credits on just sorting through higher difficulty songs to challenge myself after doing tutorial and novice tracks. Always came down to the wire navigating those menus with that timer and how many anime songs I had to skip through.
@digitalsoftwarekillagaming
@digitalsoftwarekillagaming Жыл бұрын
so they have actually fixed this in the new SDVX Exceed Gear cabinets. Basically Light start was like a quick play. You can play up to 3 songs. at least two. If you fail the second one, then you do not get to move on. The new Exceed Gear cabinets have a touchscreen and an english version. you can adjust the volume, lights, etc. Recomend youtube searching and listening to songs u want to play before you go to the arcade.

Bruh. Literally since the start of this dang quarantine i've been playing sdvx. And most of all, just overall rythm games, before i did it because of games like stepmania, because excersize, games and fun in one, then i came across sdvx and completely love it and then fnf dropped, and my rythm game skills skyrocketed. But i still kinda suck at sdvx lol. I play it for fun because its literally the best rythm game i have evr played. Im also looking to get into bemanis other title, beatmania iidx. Although i can only play these games at home, using some sims/clones like usc for sdvx.

decided to try something fresh other than the regular gekichumai series sega has; I definitely see why it’s popular and I will probably end up spending too much on this game, but just like chunithm there’s gonna be a lot of muscle memory involved I just wish I could get more waifus my local arcade doesn’t have card connect
