Great reviews Oluv, when my soundboks 1 (it was priced reasonable) order was cancelled, i stumbled upon your reviews of JBL 100, and i actually think this speaker would fit my needs very well, and then it's dirt cheap... keep it up!!

The equalizer changes when you change the volume on the speaker, but not when you change it on your phone. Therefore if you keep it at max volume on the speaker and low on your phone you will both get more interference because the speaker has to amplify the signal, and you get a worse eq, and since the max on the soundboks is way higher than the jbl the sound quality in your test is shittier. At least that's how it was with nr 2, though I don't have the new soundboks.

The Partybox 100 seems to have excellent sound compared to most speakers at a much lower cost. Did you ever review two JBLs against the Soundboks3?

I'm really waiting to see a Minirig 3 with the upcoming Sub 3 (now on pre-order) try and take on a big guy like Partybox 100 :) Impossible for it to beat it in loudness but it would be great to see if Minirig can hold it on lower (but still useful for outdoors use) level.

I definitely am looking forward to a Soundboks 2 vs. Soundboks 3 comparison. Hoping the 2 holds up, so I can buy a second for stereo vs. upgrading to 3's.

The Soundboks is ideal if you want the loudest speaker for outdoor areas, but the JBL wins for sound quality. I was tempted by the Soundboks 3, but it's too expensive - same price as 3x JBL Partybox 100's!

I was able to a brand new find soundboks 3 for around 550 EUR. Should I pull the trigger or is it still a waste of money and should I buy the Partybox 100?

Like always great video ! I think Soundboks is designed to play at a very large events where maximum sound penetration is a must and they do incredible job in that respect. JBL partybox 100 is more a backyard or household speaker. I wish you could compare JBL partybox 1000 which is directly inline with Soundboks and costs about the same. Keep up the good work!

Great video, glad your doing these outdoors now, it makes a world of difference. The JBL sounds better to me, the Soundboks 3 maybe a little louder, but thats about it, does not seem to be worth the extra $$$

Battery alone is a game changer soundboks you can change out easily. JBL party box 300 I have last only 5 hours on loud that's the disappointing part of the JBL wish the made the battery interchangeable.

I can't help but think if the Soundbox was on it's side, that muddiness at 100 hz would probably clean up.

Is there any reasonable way to charge or run Partybox 100 while outdoors, let's say in the rock festival camping or if you simply need to keep the party on from sunrise to the early hours or multiple days at the summer cottage with no electricity? I like what it can do and it's balanced quality / it being relatively "lightweight", what makes it shine (yes, I really think Soundboks sounds bad, is way too heavy and not cheap either) but I think the Partybox is useless if I can only run it for one evening and then it just turns into a 10kg piece of weight. I'm definitely not trying to push down the Partybox as I'm thinking of pulling the trigger right now and taking one with me to the said summer cottage ;) but I'm in high doubt as well. Polaroid PS300 power bank comes into mind but it costs more than the speaker and I don't even know if it's output is enough to start it charging... Something more convenient would be nice. Also interested if this thing beats the Teufel Boomster XL as it's the same weight and as far as I know Teufel's batterypack is replaceable . It's new and everyone has forgotten the Boomster XL but remembering it beat the Aiwa (IMO anyway) it should still be very relative in this game.

Oluv, I believe the bad bass reproduction on axis is caused by the reflex firing perpendicular to the mids and highs. Since as soon you went off axis, I could hear some lower bass. I think it'll sound a lot more bassy inside.

If I'm spending so much for the soundboks 3, I may as well buy the part box one thousand. Soundbocks 3 sounds clear though. You need two for a big crowd.

Teufel Rockster vs Soundboks 3 ?

Im Disappointed in the tuning i thought it could have sounded better than the soundboks 2 the bass was like the soundboks 1. I think the soundboks 2 had Deeper Bass and JBL did an fine job with the tuning of the party box. the soundboks 3 needed an clearer brighter more dynamic sound signature with deeper bass that can also be transparent if you play 70s music but they say it can be equalized.

Oh that JBL had clean sound o.o massive aswell, atlest while wearing GSP 550 while watching o.o

So many people seem to want to sell their SB2 to buy the new one. Even with the new features, look and connectivty, I prefer the original analogue nature and industrial look of the SB2. I hope they don't completely discontinue it.

Der dürfte durch seine super klaren Höhen und guten Mitten, kompensieren, was die Soundboks alleine nicht schafft. Außerdem passt der Boomster NG, mit seinen Ausmaßen, perfekt auf die Soundboks. +oluv's gadgets

Decision made JBL 100 it is , I like the portability way better and the sound plus I can get today at best buy unlike the SB I'll have to wait and most probably pay all the duties taxes upon arrival No Thanks hopefully they bring it to a local store for testing

I heard in one of Soundboks's videos about the overview of the SB3 that the port is tuned high, like at 100hz or so. Very odd design choice IMO

somehow, JBL seems to be the only company that understands that deepbass and defenition is very very important. I wish JBL hould release a speaker like the partybox 1000, same drivers same amp, but a little smaller, the lights could be cheaper, and there is no need at all for those ugly PAD controls that serve no function, no one plays with that, and they could make it like 750 bucks instead of 1000 dlrs. That hould be the ultimate party speaker. I heard it and it just sounds incredible, great definition, and the 12" sub makes deep powerfull bass. Its trully amazing.

Damn i expected more too...

for most small parties the JBL wins hands down on price/sound quality .... but the soundboks wins on volume but thats its 'party' trick ... just a shame the overall sound isnt better. but we are all winners due to the growing choice of speakers to choose from!
