This is well done - thanks! I'm just learning how to use a Ui16 and I'm pretty happy with how user friendly it is. The only thing that I think is kind of missing from your video insofar as setting things up is making certain you set the gain. I didn't know you could customize your display to get rid of channels you don't use - that's awesome! Thanks for the tip!

Thank you for this video! I've been using the UI16 for one band and now I want to use it for two. I was looking for a video that would show me how to save multiple setups and to be confident enough that I wouldn't screw up the setting for the first band while creating a second. You didn't go that far, but you did answer the question below regarding saving each band as a show, so thanks for that. It would be helpful to have a part 2 to this video where you show how to take that next step (setting up more than one band and switching between them), as well as any shortcuts that could make that process quicker (copy/paste of initial settings, etc). Thanks also for the run through the EQ section by input type. I hadn't ventured that far and everything to date was run flat. We're using all IEMs instead of wedges so maybe that reduces the need for EQ?

Thanks for the video, nice quick overview for me as I am looking at this unit. One question I have is, is there any sort of channel gain or trim to adjust the input level? Or is the fader it?
@TheGiggingGuitarPlayer Жыл бұрын
Yes, there is a gain page. Hit the mix/gain button on the top left and you will have a "gain" mixer. Hit it again to go back to the regular mixer.

Bob - I'm trying to record my band this coming weekend using the USB record function of the souncraft UI 16. Can I set up a mix in Aux 4 and direct the record function to use that mix or is it always just recording the main mix. If it can be done (Aux 4) how would I do that? Also, asuming I could use the Aux 4 mix for recording, can I also linke the Aux 4 output to my headphone jacks? Appreciate any help your videos are always great.

As far as I know, only the main R and L outputs can be recorded to USB.

Question is there a USB interface that I can use an instrument in the media channels?
@TheGiggingGuitarPlayer Жыл бұрын
I believe the usb ports on the unit are only for mp3 files for the media player, firmware updates, and recording. I doubt you could plug a usb mic or instrument into them.

Well done! I’m guessing that you saved that “template” or preset and created two more for the single guitar player and the 4 piece classic rock band? Don’t even know if that’s possible but it sounds logical.

I did save the bands as shows and snapshots. The difference between the two is confusing. I use the shows as bands, and the snapshots as venues. I see no reason you couldn't do it the other way around. I've never checked what the manual suggests.

You’re obviously a Pittsburgh guy, being from there I recognize the accent! Question: I’m using aux 3&4 to record the band. How do I direct my headphones so I can hear just one or both of those channels to make sure the recording mix is right?
@TheGiggingGuitarPlayer6 ай бұрын
You nailed it! I live near Aliquippa. I haven't tried this but, stereo link aux 3 and 4. Then in the aux master section, which is accessed when you hit the UI button at the top right of the screen, hit the solo button at the top of either 3 or 4. Both should light up. You should now be hearing the mix you have setup for aux 3 and 4 in your phones. Also, in settings be sure solo is set for headphones. Your headphones should be plugged into one of the headphone outs on the UI16 box.

@@TheGiggingGuitarPlayer I will try this for sure! I'm from Pittsburgh - I was the drummer for the Rhythm Kings if you go back that far, now live in Cave Creek Arizona and getting a band going. I bought this PA because I'm now using Roland Drums (and love them) so I needed an output. Now we're using it as the band PA. Soundcraft's documentation and videos leave much to be desired. I've asked for a video that takes the first steps on a Mixer / PA. The person who can use this video just got their mixer on Monday and has a gig Friday. How do you set up the mains, get 2-3 monitors going, know where to enable phantom power for a mike, and how to set up Gain and Main Mixes. All the rest of the stuff is important but it won't get you started. The "How to get started" part took me months to piece together. Your videos are the best.

Is this ui16 or ui26 ....., ui16 has 2 effects for a chanel like delay@reverb
@TheGiggingGuitarPlayer Жыл бұрын
This is a UI16. It has 4 effects units. You can have two reverbs, chorus and delay, or two delays, reverb and chorus. I'm pretty sure that's correct.
