The HDS3 absolutely slams in a 2.6 cube box tuned @ 35hz. That’s the setup I ran before i got a Platform 2 PSI. You can’t beat SQ for the price.

After previously owning the American Bass E-1244 and the Soundqubed HDS3-10, I can honestly say the Soundqubed was more impressive, both ran off a RD1500.1 jL audio amp.

I run a single SoundQubed HDS2.12 in a 2.75cu.ft. (after displacement) box ported and tuned to 36hz on a 1200w mono SoundQubed amp (actually pushing around 1400)and it slams. Best $89 I ever spent. Going strong for 4 years now.

For the money, I think soundqubed is pretty good. I think the HDC series is better than the HDS series but also cost lil more.

You and Trevor are awesome. loved the competition. The American sub hit way harder.

The Box doesn't sound good with the SQ is because port is to small!!!

Kinda sucks the the market is so over flooded with all the copycat companys. Makes it hard for some people to make decisions on what to get. It's awesome you do these videos to help guide people.

Just because they have the same magnet and gasket doesnt mean that they are the same. There could be huge difference just about everything else like different voice coil, spider, cone.

You really should do a custom box for those 12's that port is probably choking those subs.

Its crazy how manufacturers use the same parts 😂 Im gonna say the soundqube sub is better since it has a stiffer dust cap. Might help gain an extra db.

The American bass seems to do pretty good but definitely needs a larger box. The box i have my 2 10 inch Memphis brx's in is like 2 ft wide and over 4ft long.

American Bass a lot better it’s much louder and lower even in that 1.50 cu ft box when it requires a 2.5 cu ft box American Bass much better.

Soundqubed over American Bass as a whole. Digital designs is soundqubed parent company and their upper tier models are a tad bit better than AB and their upper tier models. Jmo. You guys should check out the HDX 12

I've been running 2 e12s d4 for like a year now in a 4cf box ran to 1ohm on a precision power black ice 7000.1d and a bass processor to bring back the missing harmonics these subs are so musical but they also hit really low ive surprised alot of people with them

That box is way too small for both subs. You need a bigger ported costum made box.

It's nothing new maybe for the younger guys into car audio. Some brands do share some parts because they get em from the same place. It's no secret that Digital Designs and Soundqubed are a father and son ran companies. The son runs DD and dad runs Soundqubed. American Bass throughout the years since I even heard of them their subwoofer designs were always similar some cases identical to DD even in performance very similar. I've been into car audio for 25 years you name a brand ive probably had it. I used to tell guys all the time that wanted DD but id tell them get an American Bass sub thats similarly specced to the DD sub you're eyeballin drop it in and enjoy. None of them called me back with a complaint only damn I should've been on American Bass. Imo best bang for your buck period.

I would still rather have my SoundQubed HDS3.1's over the American Bass E-1244's. You can easily get SQ recons and SQ subs just sound awesome at any volume In the right enclosure. Mine is big as hell.

This was not a conclusive video. you also did not even tell us if they sounded the same which from what i heard they sounded different and that could be due to the coils which you cant see. just because the spiders are the same color doesn't mean they are the same spider.

I just got my nko’s today and they look almost the same is those but I really want to see a comparison with the AB to see if I made a mistake by getting the nko’s instead of the AB 🙉

When you gonna try the dark audio ? I'm telling you the nko is not fucken around. For just over a 100.00 bucks for a massive twelve. It's very efficient for a big sub and in a sealed enclosure it's very musical.

I built a box similar to that. 2.7 beforeport 3.4 total tuned to 35 hz.. it's more of spl box than sq.. 2 inch port is a little noisy on lows ...50 hz is great.. I would not mind building a 4 cub box with a 4 inch port tuned to 33 hz with a little poly fill

Similar subs same build house, I run the older Hds series for now... both great subs American bass had better coils but the new hdx use the black anodized again both great subs but that soundqubed needs way more box and port

This is a terrible comparison video for many reasons. If your going to do a comparison video like this, you need to at least build a custom box for each sub built to the subs recommended specs. American Bass makes great budget subs but the SoundQubed HDS3.1 vs. the American Bass E-1244? Shit! No contest! The HDS3.1 head to head would smoke the E-1244! Literally. I've had both. I now have 4 HDS3.1's on 2 s12250's strapped at one ohm and it's unbelievable. They're destroying my van. I have 2 layers of .75 MDF with alot of great stuff for my headliner, for sound deader I used 80 mill everywhere about 30 cans of Great stuff, sand in the back panels, a little bit of concrete in the bottoms of the front doors and the thing still flexes like crazy. It sounds great. Clean and clear bass for blocks and blocks away. I get so many complements on not only how loud it is, but how clean and clear it sounds. Im using Skar FSX mids and 4in Skar tweets. My next build will either be the SQ HDX 18's or the Skar ZVX 18"s. For the best budget brand, SoundQubed smokes the competition.

well they are not Sundown's but they do have beefy bass and forgive small volume errors they sound better then L7s even but again they arew not Sundowns
