Ambient Soundscape isn't really my thing, and I bet this video won't be interesting for a lot of dudes playing in cover bands (like me) but I still think the Walrus Audio Lore is worth a look. Lots of fun, easy to get dense, layered sounds, and a few nice features to boot.
Chapters:

2:00 - Layer by Layer
5:23 - The Knobs
7:27 - Comfort Zone
9:15 - A Humble Plea

Really enjoyed this one! Walrus are coming out with some really interesting and creative pedals. It's a shame I can't help by unsubscribing and then subscribing again. Love to see you make 10k, your videos are great and you deserve it!

I just got into synths and it breathes a whole new life into my existing pedals. Particularly delays and reverbs.

Heck yeah. I’m looking into polyphonic synths lately as well. So many options available at such great prices.

A bit Purple Rainy on that opening jam. Purple Drizzle, on Neptune, grooving with a Pict.

So your sustainer gizmo - It;s basically like an E-Bow. I've had an E-Bow for quite a while. Fun thing to mess around with and I like your use of it there.

Yeah it’s basically an eBow but it’s only $35

Well done, sir. Great opening piece. Just beautiful. I too have been trying to push myself into uncomfortable (to me) territory with pedals I used to think about as “yeah, I’ll never use that.” I’ve discovered some inspiration I hadn’t experienced before, as well as discovering what I simply don’t connect with. Fun stuff! I’ve wondered… how long do you tend to sit with a pedal before you feel like you know it well enough to make the video? Cheers! “Electric bow.” Heh heh.

Thanks, @astrodadmusic! I know that with myself, there's a hump that I have to get over where I give myself some time to find that new thing, and I'm not just forcing it to sound like something else I like. I think that's where going to the ambient soundscape show really helped, because I saw some of the techniques and musical approaches that didn't seem obvious and that's what I was chasing here. With pedals, I give them enough time to get past that hump, where I've hopefully discovered a few interesting pockets of capabilities that wouldn't be obvious if I were just showing "Here's what happens when I spin this knob back and forth... ok, and here's the next knob". So I'll spend 1 or 2 nights aimlessly messing around seeking out interesting things, and usually during that time I'm writing down and recording little notes to come back to. By then, I'm itching to actually record stuff, but it can be another 1-2 nights of recording stuff. I say nights because I tend to do all this stuff after the rest of the house has gone to bed and everything else is taken care of. It's a good "last few minutes of the day" activity.

i live for this kind of stuff. thank you for taking this dive! geeky aside: thank you for including flow charts. in moving through preproduction for my own massive triple-album space rokk opera masterpiece, i've filled half of a graph paper notebook with similar signal path routings. editor's note: pathing wet/dry/wet effects sends and returns requires handfuls of different colored highlighters over pencil. maybe it's the notebook that really matters here. hmm.

Thanks again! The charts I actually stole from the manual and re-drew. It’s a small detail but definitely helps in understanding the effect. And yeah, definitely need multi colored implements!!!

It sounds great but I am burnt out on shimmer reverb but I'll always love reverse reverb and delay so sweet and I usually need to use two separate pedals to get both at the same time and mixing em gets tricky and a lot of reverbs fall apart with as much bass as I tend to use going into it and a lot of drives don't work well either

I’m in the middle of Canada, literally. There’s a sign outside our city which says so. There’s hardly any guitar or pedal shows. So can you please record any shows you attend to share it with us?

This pedal is worth it for the graphic alone... also adressing the elephant in the room: is ebow no longer a thing?

Am I crazy or does Walrus have the same digital artifact in all their time and reverb effects?
