Sourdough Discard Brownies
1 stick butter (8 tbsp)
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 tbsp vanilla extract
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 tsp salt
2 eggs
1/2 cup sourdough discard
Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line an 8x8 baking dish with parchment paper.
Melt butter in stove at low/medium heat or in the microwave. Then, add vanilla and chocolate chips to the melted butter stirring until melted and combined. If you need to heat a little more, use only 10 second bursts stirring each time to make sure the chocolate doesn't burn.
In a medium bowl, combine all the dry ingredients and mix together well. Add the chocolate mixture and mix until well combined. It will be thick. Once it's combined, add the eggs and sourdough discard. Stir together well (no clumps).
Pour into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
Bake 40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Cool before cutting.
