This song is dedicated to the legendary heroine Aline Sitoe Diatta (1920-1944, from Cabrousse, Casamance). She was a powerful leader who fought against the French colonial power during World War II. They felt threatened and sent her to prison in Timbuktu in Mali, where she became ill and died, only 24 years old. Today she is a celebrated heroine in Senegal. Both the football stadium in Ziguinchor and the ferry that runs between Dakar and Ziguinchor are named after her.
Lyrics:
Aline Sitoe Diatta toubabo musolou a samba
Yo landi tanon yo landi gison Aline Sitoe
Yo jigeen ci mun goor

Aline Sitoe Diatta, the French colonial power took you away from us
You are the one we choose and you are the one we see, Aline Sitoe
You are a woman with more power than men. You can win.
Lindiana (the neighbourhood in Ziguinchor where she and Maher came from)
We have all played there.
