"If we continue to turn a blind eye to certain things that are evidence of the coloniality of our society, what we are doing is to say that it is fine for us to continue to live colonised lives as black people" Dr Lwazi Lushaba.

Such a knowledgeable brother. The need to step away from a Eurocentric discourse, in order to embrace our Afro-discourse, requires that we refer to Africans and their descendants as something other than "blacks"...I'm not a color in a European language...I am the sum total of my virtues and vices, a member of an ethnic group, a dancer, a lover, a teacher, and yes, sometimes a smoker and a midnight joker...but I am not a color in a European language...that is the first sign of cognitive dissonance, saying we need to disrupt the discourse while mindlessly using concepts that ARE the main tools of domination used by Europeans...labels have more power than arguments...that is why mulato and mestizo and the N word are so powerful till today in the Spanish speaking countries and in the US...

Im just wondering how that would look like? Abstract solutions like that has to have a real solution. Money and land is concrete ways to defeat colonisation still prevalent in African societies, we can find concrete solution to those problems.

Phrased in another way, the mindset of a black South African needs to change, the black man needs to perceive himself or herself on an equal footing as a white person. The black man must seek knowledge and enlightenment at all times and not just material things

If we call ourselves "black" (i.e. if we use a European color to self label) will we be able to perceive ourselves as what we really are?

@@nkazimulomthembu9270 Take your time and learn" I am not sure of your English - do you mean I do not know what it is like to want to be decolonized, or I don't know what it is like to be decolonized? I was born 174 years after the USA (13 colonies which later became States) defeated the British and became our own nation. But the British were not all we had to remove. French Prussian (German), Mexican and Spanish cost us additional wars, or in the case of the entire Mid West USA , that was purchased from France when Napoleon needed money to fund his war against Russia. I am from the Mid West USA. I know my history. One thing I do know is that we didn't sit for 25+ years blaming our prior experience on others. The privileges' we had were to be free and to work. We had a nation to build. We went quickly to work to form what some believe is the strongest nation on the planet today. We are not just one people, we are indeed a melting pot (I don't like "rainbow nation because a rainbow is a refraction of only white light. There is no black in a rainbow, but i understand the sentiment. Rev Tutu is not a scientist but a preacher - I forgive him). The USA remains the #1 destination of all immigrants. Why is that so? "Take your time and learn" Here is what I know of Africa. The Bantu tribes which included the Tsonga in Mozambique and Zulu now in KZN, colonized that part of the continent. The one woman I know of the Tsonga tribe said she refuses to lean Zulu because they enslaved her people. True? I don't know, but that is what she told me and she works for DHA of SA and I met her in Chicago. "Take your time and learn" I see two forms of Colonization. One is out and out warfare. The stronger group wins. That's why the British beat the Zulu and we know they had problems with the Afrikaners as well. But they were a well equipped militarily machine unlike those they conquer. American Patriots however booted them out of the country. The other form of Colonization is willful Colonization. That is where people from one culture wish to enjoy the benefits and creature comforts of another and purchase items such as TV,s Radios, Cell Phones, Cars, Attire , hair weaves, . It is that form of purchased Colonization I believe you should seriously consider. Is it worth it to you and what ? I perceive your mission is total decolonization? Africa is a tremendously diverse and beautiful continent. But its inhabitants are scaring people away what with intertribal and religious warfare, and corruption. The ONLY influence America decided itself to make in the continent was Liberia. After our own Civil War the USA purchased the land now is called Liberia. It was a place those who wished to return to Africa after slavery was abolished could do so. Some did, not all however. I will leave it up to you research the political climate in Liberia. It would be best for you to read it yourself. "Take your time and learn" Americans no longer holds a grudge against our former oppressors. In fact , they are now our allies. I enjoy a properly prepared French meal, enjoy German food, can't say the same for British, but their breakfasts can be a delight. I have friends who are all from those countries. "Take your time and learn"

@@Jewriffic Native Americans are the true Americans and I'm sure they resent their colonizers. Again, I think you should follow the discourse on decolonisation in South Africa. You will benefit a lot. That version of Zulu history is distorted and Euro-centric. Shaka was not a bloodthirsty warrior who conquered people unwillingly. However, that was a colonial version of "tribal" history.. Colonialism was not only sustained through military means but also through ideas, hence, the role of colonial education was significant too. That version of Zulu history was written by colonial scholars and missionaries. USA was built on the backs of black slaves. So that "hard work" narrative is just nonsense. We are building our nation as well but we cannot ignore the fact that our landlessness emanate from the past. Yes we blame colonialism for land dispossession, and we need to address racial inequalities which emanate from the past.
