I suspect the Springboks played this "boring" brand of rugby because it was their best chance of winning. The gameplan was similar to the one they played against Wales in the WC, who were led by Gatland, only to play a completely different game against England in the final. The Springboks have learnt to vary their game so I think the Rugby Championship will see a different gameplan.

Being french i know what a boring game of rugby is, our national championship is almost full of them. But this tour was really hard to enjoy... And i must confess i was originally super hyped by the crazy amount of very likable players in both teams !

Morne Steyn is a Springbok Legend..rank him alongside Os du Randt (2x world cup) and Francois Steyn (2x world cup) for great achievements..2 Lions series won is no easy feat!!!

The record books as well and this series will be recorded as 2-1 to The Springboks. No one will ever ask how did they win but who won? You play to your strengths stick to your plan and never mind the crowds. You do not play for them but for your team. If you keep on losing because you play to please the crowd they will not turn up next time. There is nothing like a real arm wrestle between 2 teams going hard at each other in scrums, rucks, and hits. if the crowds do not like what they see well go home then. Go watch ballet. I rest my case.

You know what? As a Kiwi I'm starting to think that the Springboks might actually be better than us atm. Ever since 2019 I've been saying we are still the best and would still win the rugby championship, but not too sure now. Going to an exciting tournament with the Boks back that's for sure.

Right on cue my pom mates started complaining about SA and Rassie cheating and that all the ref calls were bad. Same excuses and complaints whenever they lose. The Lions could have easily won this game, but they made poor decisions, didn't pass to open player with open tryline........didn't take 3 points but kicked for touch and position........and then missed 2 tackles on Kolbe........................and now they cry about being robbed. I say F....off, to all those sore losers!!!

Congratulations South Africa!!! In all honesty, that was a 3 0 series. We got some pretty favourable calls the first test. We didn't play our best players, which would have been good to see, and if we could have given you more problems. Great effort from the boks and overall dominated in just about every department. If Pollard had his kicking boots on, this would have looked a lot worse on the scoreboard. Thought we might have you in the first half there, but again, wrong personnel on the field couldn't capitalise. All the best in the championship, a frustrated Scot!

People complaining about the rugby being boring are a bit pathetic. The Springboks and the Lions first and foremost play for themselves and the team, not the fans. They do what they need to do to win, and if that means playing a game slightly slower than usual then so be it. Get over yourselves, seriously.

An edge-of-your-seat match. The Boks weren't perfect. The British and Irish Lions really took the game to them. Flashes of brilliance saved South Africa, from what could have been a humiliating defeat : 1. the Kolbe try, very reminiscent of his RWC2019 Final try. 2. Morné Steyn's Entrance. Slotting the last 2 penalties. To clinch it for SA. The man simply defies belief : how the hell do you win a 2009 series against the B+I Lions, and pull the same stunt off, 12 years later, again against the B+I Lions, at age 37 ?!? Simply remarkable.

Sadly a game not decided by the players but by the beep of the referees whistle and South Africa had one more beep than the Lions

rewatched the game now, a little bit disgusted to see that everytime the ref blew his whistle against the Lions, 1 or 2 Lions would run up to the ref in protest, or argue. World Rugby needs to stomp this out before the Brits turn Rugby into Football, and refs have to take verbal abuse from players on the pitch.

Well done to the Lions, they came close and they sacrificed a lot to make this tour happen. No shame in their defeat. Happy for my team though, they literally bled for their country and in the end it was exactly that kind of commitment that wins the big games. Green and Gold forever !
