The South African 3rd decimal series was minted from 1990 until 2022 (the R2 came out in 1989). The coins are still in circulation, but some have already started to gain value above that of face value.
In this video, the entire 3rd decimal series is covered, from the humble 1c to the R5 coin.

Baie dankie vir die video. Dit is jammer dat die munte wat so moeilik bekombaar is amper of geheel ongesirkuleerd moet wees om bietjie waarde te hê, maar aan die anderkant is ek ook maar baie bly daaroor, want ek kort self ook van hulle😄.

It took me quite a while to find the World Summit R1 in change. Recently my friend found one and was excited when I told him it was worth atleast more than 1 rand 😂 he now keeps it as a keepsake

Great question. I am not a note collector, but I do have a few. I'll create a video on some of the common notes. Hopefully that will help. There are some notes to look out for, but usually the notes has to be in pristine condition, else it's only worth face value.

It really depends on the type of error and the extent. Small, common errors, maybe R20, up to several thousand for a large error.
