Aaah 2ne1! Yes the OG Queens of KPOP. Yes they were/are basically the girl version of BigBang. Super talented ladies and although they are not together they still making music. CL is the GZB! You definitely need to check out their other songs. They have beautiful vocals, specially my BOM. DARA although the oldest, she has a gold heart. Minzy with her dancing moves. You need to watch them live. 2015 MAMA awards was their last performance together before being disbanded. CL like the best leader brought the girls to perform. It was supposed to be just her stage. The girls were going through a rough time and tbh stupid controversy. Still not over how they got disbanded and that is one thing I will never forgive YG for. YG used to be such a family. 2NE1 is easily the most iconic and legendary girl group in K-pop, they are a very big part of the reason why kpop is what it is today. Back when they were active, kpop was bubbly, girly, popsy, and girl groups were meant to be cute and innocent. Needless to say, even from this video, 2NE1 never conformed. Each comeback they had was with a message. They were the "ugly gg" but also the coolest and "swaggyest" gg. They broke the norms, invented and pioneered the girl crush concept which did not exist in kpop to that day, and it is the concept the Blackpink took as well. As YG said himself, they were the blueprint for Blackpink. They had no competition back in the day, especially in live performances. If you think Blackpink are awesome live, you should watch their inspiration - 2NE1. There's not a group to this day that can match 2ne1 in terms of live performances. I highly recommend you watch their mama 2015 performance, and "Crush" live performance. They are literal stage killers. CL was the girl who everyone wanted to be at the time, cool, sexy, unapologetic, she did whatever she wanted do, when she wanted to do it. She was Korea's trend setter back in the day and all companies wanted to recreate a CL, including YG, who compared Jennie to CL, who was the standard at the time. 2NE1 is one if the most successful groups to exist in kpop and if you watch them more, you will see why. Ahhh 2ne1, my OG K-pop group. The good old days and the fan wars with SNSD stans were some of the best memories I have of K-pop. 2ne1 made all the other groups sound generic. K-pop wouldn't be what it is today if not for the 2nd gen legends that paved the way. I remember back in the late 2000s when all you could hear on the radio was 2ne1, BigBang, SuperJunior, SNSD and Wonder Girls. They really made K-pop big in Asia!

2ne1 is honestly the best girl group ever. they are still so unique considering all the new girl groups I love newjeans and le sserafim but 2ne1 still serves an unique space in my heart
