In hindsight, Andraya Carter's assessment was spot on. Indiana's 3s kept it close and South Carolina's lapses in the 3rd and 4th quarters gave Indiana a chance. That's gonna be every remaining team's blueprint to take down the SC juggernaut because there's a lot of good 3 point shooters in SC's path.

That can be their blueprint, but Indiana lost. So, let it be the blueprint and SC will still hopefully cut down the nets!

@@neetrab Now see, I'd rather be able to make tthat statement about cutting down the nets without qualifying it with "hopefully". The entire 2nd half of the Indiana game did little to inspire confidence because these games are ounly going to be tougher (and needlessly tougher if the ladies don't shore up some of these lapses).

Yep! She nailed it for sure. However, there's not a lot of good 3-point shooters in their path as you alleged. There's only three possible games left, and of the remaining teams only one has a team 3-point percentage above 36%, and that matchup could only take place in the finals. While there are teams in the tournament that shoot more threes than SC, there are none that makes them at a higher percentage. Also, we can't overlook Andraya's counter argument for that strategy- the fact that the gamecocks hold their opponents to a dismal 26% shooting from behind the arch. IU actually shot nearly 40% and still fell short. As she also pointed out, the subsequent misses lead to long rebounds and fast break points. Incorporating a game plan of shooting an excessive number of threes against a defensive juggernaut is not very advantageous. Do I think SC is beatable? Absolutely! But not by a team forcing 3s. You don't change who you are after making the dance. I do think Oregon State presents a formidable threat, but not because off shooting threes alone. They have played 13 games against top 25 opponents. They have good size at the post and guards. They also have great team chemistry and play fundamental basketball. LSU because of familiarity, but we shall see. †

6:05-6:15 - Dawn Staley does to Fulwiley what the Iowa coach fails to do with Catlitlin Clark. She will reprimand a player and have them sit if they are not playing both ends of the ball well. Iowa's coach doesn't do that and it's quite sad. Dawn doesn't want her players to just be great on the offensive side of the ball because that will not help them in their career at the next level if they want to win. We see why Iowa doesn't win championships.

South Carolina vs Indiana was actually a close game, meanwhile Iowa was supposed to struggle against Colorado and they ended up blowing out the Buffaloes by 21 ! That's why you play the games !

Iowa should not have even been playing Colorado! The refs cheated WV out of that game. Iowa should have been out in the second round...AT HOME!! Heaven forbid if that had happened. Just say you want to send Caitlyn out with NC!!! The fix is in.🤷‍♀️😡

South Carolina and Dawn Staley has taken a few pages from Geno Auriemma/UCONN. Dawn attended many UCONN practices... Olympic basketball with Geno as the coach as his assistant and then became coach..has all the tools to create and has created a great team; along with getting players to fill in vacancies for the future. You don't have the fastest number to 1200 wins...11 championships and record appearances in all level of tournaments; the mostplayers in the WNBA without having a vision of how to do that.. that is Geno Auriemma... and now it looks like Dawn Staly has a great start with SC.

Really can’t go by what experts say about SC they have worked hard all year 35-0 and would NOT wish them to lose because of the experts. All teams are good at this point and a W is a W!!No HATE!! There are people who hate SC and l don’t understand why….. let’s go Lady Gamecocks💯🔥one game@ a time.

Iowa did not struggle against Colorado AT ALL. CC is mostly an offensive force but she has some great clutch blocks and steals, just in the last two games! Feels kinda haterade to me. Not everyone plays the same style. They mostly try to out score opponents but they play team defense on the other end . At least in the games I have seen.

last year Andraya cater said samething about SC. Anit no team go no chance vs them. Then they lose to IOWA. lol really builds her credit. Andraya dodge the question on espn who has the best chance vs SC. I don't like the fact she keep avoiding answering.
