I agree Coach Hannah is a beast that young lady can flat out Ball. South Carolina just keeps pushing out elite talent they also had a impressive Freshman. This game was great for the team and coaches.

Great game for me. My SC got the win, and Hannah had a great game. I'm glad she balled out, I been talking her up for a long while now. Always wished she came to South Carolina. Notre Dame got a great team, and is my sleeper team.

I agree. Idk if I would say sleeper once they get Miles back they will be quite impressive. Great team great coaching and great guard play. They will definitely be a team to reckon with in the tournament. What a great game for my Gamecocks and can’t wait to see these two freshman continue to. Style it out for years to come.

@@mrjay3047 I agree with you. I say sleeper because, once fully healthy and with the team having played with each other for 30 plus games, they could get hot come march and do a LSU. It's not likely, but if things fall their way, who knows.

Thank you and Notre Dame will get better! Three (3) of their best players where not even in uniform yesterday. South Carolina is a really good team, we must all remember that.

Yoooo I enjoyed watching ND play SC, I was so engaged with both teams. Very exciting watching them play against each other. Hidalgo is gonna be a beast, once she settle in. Mannn this game was so electrifying and fantastic to watch. I can't wait to see the next match up between them again. All I can say is this season is gonna hit different this year, unlike anything we've seen before💯Go WBB

First I would like to say is: CONGRATULATIONS to South Carolina, very good team, and a great Coach in Staley. 16 years of experience, verses 4 years really showed. Notre Dame is too slow! They were "NOT" outplayed, but they were out-hustled! They were running, while Notre Dame Players was walking down Court! Cardosa is one of the "BEST" Centers in girls Basketball, and maybe even the best! There is not another 6'7'' Player like Cardoso. Notre Dame will be able to handle the rest of the Centers that they face off against. Notre Dame will bounce back and play well! Look out for another great season this year!!! GO IRISH! Coach Ivey learns very well. To me, South Carolina looks better than they did last year, they are surely more talented.

That first quarter is a taste of the heights this team can reach this year! Champions aren’t crowned in November. The team has a chance to learn, get healthy, grow their chemistry, and get even better. Hannah was incredible! Looking forward to Anna and Emma getting more comfortable in our system/offense. Would love to see more shots from them. Also, Nat played very well! The only question I have is where was Becky? Is she injured, or was it coach’s decision?

@@baus7 Becky Obinma! She’s the grad transfer post Niele brought in. Only 6’2”, but strong, athletic, and fast (she used to run track). She’s also likely going to be the best rebounder on the team-she had 12 boards in 17 minutes in the exhibition game (albeit against a much shorter team). Soni was second to her with 9 boards, but in 30 minutes. I feel like Becky could’ve helped a lot today with her athleticism, strength, and rebounding, especially after Maddy and Kylee got in foul trouble. I’m very curious why she didn’t see the floor.

@@danielmassoud4490, thank you and you are correct! She will bring Speed, Rebounding and Block Shots to the game for Notre Dame. She just didn't play well in the Exhibition Game, she played very well all last year and the year before as far as Rebounding and Block Shots. She will help the Irish!

@danielmassoud4490, Man you were so spot on with your Comment Sir, thank you so much! Remember: Notre Dame has three (3) of it's top players missing. Everybody saw Olivia out, but nobody noticed that KK and Becky were out as well. Notre Dame "WILL" be better, don't worry about that! At the end of the second Quarter, they looked tired already....? They were "NOT" running down Court on the fast breaks, dragging down Court like they had no energy or something, I don't understand that. Coach Ivey needs to get her team i better shape! They got out hustled from the Second Quarter on, that's where they lost. Yes, they could "NOT" stop Cardosa, but they are going to have to learn how to beat the other four (4) players on the Court when you can't stop One! That's what IOWA did to them last year. Learn from this, and Notre Dame will be better! If you want to be the best, then you learn from the best, Coach Dawn Staley and South Carolina is one of the best, as a Coach and as a team! Congratulations South Carolina, they might lose 1 or maybe 2 games this year. I don't see LSU beating South Carolina, and LSU is favored to win that match up, I don't believe so.

Hannah had the energy, every one else was flat. Nat needs to clean up the fouls but she was a bright light with HH

Reply @tammyorszulak8236, you know what I thought that Nat played her best game in an Irish Uniform, especially coming off injury! She definitely needs to clean up all of those no-nonsense fouls that he always makes. She has really developed that midrange shot that could take her a very long way into playing gime for the season. She's hitting that shot with regularity, and I noticed last year when she started taking that shot and was hitting it, if she can continue at the pace that she is on with that shot, she will get a lot of playing time. She hits the boards as well, she could be very instrumental in a Notre Dame run at the end of the year! Just remember what I said!

I'm sure Coach Ivey is smart enough to realize this now but she can't confuse the team she wants with the team she has. The main reason this game got out of hand is because Notre Dame had every intention of running with South Carolina in an up and down high paced transition filled game. That is clearly not playing to Notre Dame's strengths especially when competing against athletic teams like South Carolina.(up and down high paced games are their living room so to speak) Even when Miles returns it won't change much against teams like this. Notre Dame strengths are playing half court defense on a string (coaches know what that phrase means) and looking to run on teams in the wake of a turnover or a long rebound...otherwise look to either use the secondary transition offense (open 3 point opportunities or post players spotting up in the mid range or 3 point line in Maddy's case) or setting up in a half court offense that involves many screens/cuts away from the ball and making the extra pass to set up your shooters in a catch and shoot setting and when going against teams with out multiple shot blockers, use shot fakes to drive to the basket and draw fouls. Players like Hannah will obviously have the green light to go whenever they feel like it but that does not apply to the other Notre Dame players unless it is against lesser athletically gifted teams. Should these teams meet later I'm sure the outcome will not be like today. I'm forcing South Carolina to bomb away from the perimeter because 6'7 doesn't stop being 6'7 as the game wears on. The energy needed to combat that does wane over the course of a game however.

It's funny because I analyzed it the same way Coach! You are spot on! Notre Dame's BIGS are slow! And South Carolina isn't better than Notre Dame, they out hustled Notre Dame, and they out Ran Notre Dame. Slow the ball down and do Half Court setups on Offense and Defense when playing these teams with Atheletizm. Yes, we got killed on the points in the paint! But where did most of them come from? Fast Breaks and just flat out running past the Notre Dame defender to the basket on most of those drives. Notre Dame "WILL" get better! Notre Dame has not only one of their top players not in uniform yesterday, but three (3) and nobody noticed no one but Olivia Miles out, but KK and Becky were out to, who can run the floor when they are back in uniform.

No defense again this year. We need a staff that can recruit to it needs.. this staff has no passion and no player accountability like muffet or Dawn. Defense is so bad.. Again....

No @joebane2429, Notre Dame bigs are SLOW! In a half Court setting, they do play pretty good defense, but they are just slow! They will get better on defense, trust me on this one Sir. If you noticed; South Carolina had three (3) players running the Court, their BIGS weren't running, because they are slow as well. Notre Dame needs to have at least three players running the floor to stop transition baskets, and they have the players to do it with right now! Cardosa and the Power Forward were not running the floor! They were rebounding and kicking the Ball out consistantly at the end of the second quarter. The Small Forward and the two (2) guards were running the floor, running past Notre Dame's players. THAT WILL CHANGE! Watch and see! When KK and Becky get back on the floor!

Yes! Yes! Yes!. That's how Iowa beat SC last year. They packed the paint on Boston and dared SC to beat them from outside. Teams with D can always neutralize high octane offenses. Like the Aces vs Libs. Team D won that series.
