South Carolina Women's Basketball Team Takes the Title for Best in Sports!

"Gamecocks Talk with Captain Will" delivers the latest updates and insights on the South Carolina Women's College Basketball team, including recruitment news and beyond. The three-time NCAA National Champions are set to defend their title in the upcoming season.
The Gamecocks were recognized at the ESPYs as the best team in sports! They won the award over the Boston Celtics, Kansas City Chiefs, UConn Men's Basketball, and others. I also discuss Dawn Staley winning the Jimmy Valvano Award for Perseverance. Finally, I discuss A'ja Wilson receiving the award for Female Athlete of the Year. The Gamecocks are shining bright like a diamond, and it is amazing!
The women's college basketball season begins with a matchup against the Michigan Women's Basketball team in Las Vegas on November 4th. Under the leadership of Head Coach Dawn Staley, the team features dynamic players like Raven Johnson, Bree Hall, Chloe Kitts, and Ashlyn Watkins, backed by a strong bench presence from MiLaysia Fulwiley, Tessa Johnson, and Sania Feagin. Newcomers Maryam Dauda, Joyce Edwards, Maddy McDaniel, and Adhel Tac are set to enhance the team's strength this season.

Cap Tehina will probably be the captain next year This is in recognition of the fact that they started the season off ranked 6th in the country. Then came out and stormed their way to 38-0 record which includes that historic win over Tennessee. I hope the media disrespects them again. I know they are focused on going undefeated again I’m with them till the wheels fall off. FOREVER TO THEE LADY GAMECOCKS!!!

@@RustyLou18 yes,you are on point. Dawn and her young ladies were given best sport team at the ESP's for : Best sport team of 2024. Dawn was also given an adward as well. Finally they recognize the women gamecock basketball team. As they should (38-0)perfect season. Hollywood Raven got her revenge on Clark and Iowa team . ESPN had CLark to win the championship. Even though Iowa lost,they gave them mad press coverage. You would think Clark was the whole WNBA. You get get on the internet without seeing a bunch of new coverage on Clark. She has never won any championships. Nike gives her a 15 million dollar contract ,before she played one game in the WNBA. WHY? Not hating on Clark. A'ja Wilson win a championship in college and back to back WNBA championships. Nike didn't give A'ja a shoe deal.

I'm so proud these beautiful young ladies won the best team award. I have to admit I had zero trust in espn doing the right thing. The way Dawn had the team stand up to be recognized and the speech she made was breath of fresh air to me. You can see the love and respect these young ladies have for Dawn and all the other coaches. I often wonder what would have happened to some great players that didn't sign with Dawn and went elsewhere ..if they had accepted an offer from South Carolina....Rhyne Howard comes to mind ...won an SEC championship her Senior season at Kentucky on a miracle shot by Dre Edwards. Her peers at South Carolina have so many rings they are running out of fingers. There are a lot of others also..Rickea(sp)Jackson,etc
