Don't lie ..in north India you guys Wear DHOTHI....our former president thayal dharma,Nehru and beggers,farmers wear it...you have to tie from front and take under your balls the tip and fix in the back...thanks..any questions welcome.

why did you miss vashti kuttu styles... maduchu kattu (aeration), yethi kattu (gethu look), varunchu kattu (agriculture, horticulture, fight, bull fight, etc)

for the people crying tn tn tn. veshti was introduced first in tamil nadu. so it would make sense to use tn as a common reference

amazing video guys... just awesome ... never knew so many things about "veshti" .. always thought it to be a dhoti type garment but many things got clarified ... great innovations like pockets and belt are not found even in similar garments in the rest of the country.. kudos to the channel ... That green belt is known as a "HAJJ BELT". It's actually of Muslim origin in which pilgrims traveling to mecca wore it to hold the ihram in place and to keep their belongings. I'm not sure how it got popular in south India, but I know here in Kerala, ALL of the muslims wear this green belt with yellow pockets (sometimes black belt with yellow pockets). I own a couple of these belts because I find it very useful. You will primarily see Keralites and Tamils using that as it is more popular in those 2 states.

How did the origination of wearing veshti/mundu in a wrap around fashion originate? I know in Kerala, that is how it is always worn for the longest; we never ever wear mundu in the panchakatcham style like you will see in Andhra and Karnataka. Primarily TN and Kerala wears it like a wrap around.

Just don't take the term south India for granted. South India comprises of 5 states not just TN. Just change the title to TN 101 or sth. Everyone on the Internet is matured enough to know the difference yo.
