Hallelujah!!
After considerable coaxing from her kinfolk and friends alike, Becky reluctantly agreed to release the closely guarded, top secret recipe for her southern fried chicken on this video. Her recipe is guaranteed to put a toothy grin on everyone's face when they bite into this scrumptious delight. This recipe is not the cheapest way to make chicken vittles, nor is it the fastest and easiest way, but it's without a doubt the best way.
Becky's top secret recipe will impress every finicky mother-in-law and it will also keep husbands from straying. (Unless of course, some high handed floozy is able to lay her filthy paws on this recipe and tries to entice your man with the same tasty grub.)
If you're not yet hitched, I suggest you hold a piece of this chicken under the snout of a feller who you've been eyeballing. I can guarantee he won't be able to resist this powerful aroma that smells better than toilet water and he'll pop the question right then and there, realizing that he won't be able to go on without the chicken or the little darling who cooked it.
So don't put it off, nary a day. Fry you up a mess of this chicken right now. Set you a pretty table, give thanks to the good Lord above and eat like there's no tomorrow.

Becky, let me introduce myself briefly. I'm a 68 year old God fearing Christian single disabled Navy vet, double amputee bound to a power wheelchair. I live alone, just me and my 8 cats. I'm a good cook if I say so myself, learning by watching my mom when I was growing up. I love southern fried chicken and will most definitely try this recipe. I also love gravy. But have never been able to make a good chicken gravy, and was just wondering if maybe you could show me how. Thanks for all your great videos.

I worked at Costco a long time ago. An older gentleman told me to use buttermilk you use a fork to pierce the meat, then let it sit overnight. Then pat it down, and use italics dressing, garlic and onion granulated. Salt and pepper to the flor. A I didn’t grow up eating fried chicken, my dad didn’t like chicken. My Grandpa would make it for me, but with white long grain rice. The gravy was always the best part to me. ✌️❤️🙏

If you ever get stuck without the Ritz crackers (and you might want to once you find out all the ingredients in those crackers) you can substitute finely crushed corn flakes instead. It is cheaper and still healthy and tastes great! And you can coat your chicken in plain sour cream and not need to use lemon juice at all. I shake my chicken pieces in a paper bag with flour, dip them in the sour cream and then roll them in the cornflakes. Don’t over coat them too thickly, let them rest a few minutes. Then i fry them and turn them for colour, and finish them by putting the fry pan with them in it in a slow oven. About 20 minutes or so from start to finish. It can take it up to the next level! Enjoy!!

First, I love your channel and look forward to making some of these recipes. I will give you a tip my wife learned and I agree with. Before you put your milk into the mash potatoes, warm the milk up first in the microwave. Not hot, just warm. It makes them taste so light and the texture is so much better. It's funny how something like that can make such a big difference. Thank you for the videos!

My editor cut out some important instructions, if you are making chicken for a crowd, put a wire rack on a cookie sheet and drain your chicken on it. Keep it in the oven set on about 225, this will keep the chicken hot until you get it all cooked and it will keep it from getting soggy.

Thanks Becky for sharing your gift of teaching with all of us. Cooking seems to come natural to you, it certainly doesn't to me. I admit that I have never been a good cook, but really want to learn. My mother has thrown hints that cooking holiday dinners is becoming a large undertaking for her so I want to take the burden off of her. This is what pushed my need-to-know. This recipe is the first thing I've attempted from your channel/cookbook. The chicken turned out so good. Very tender as you said...my husband & I ate all 8 tenderloins that I fried up. I pour the water off the green beans too. Never knew that lemon juice makes the chicken more tender. Great idea. When I'm too lazy to pull out the food processor, I use a Ziploc baggie to put my Ritz in and then use the bottom of a glass to press on it until they are small crumbs. It doesn't take long at all. I have found several places in Speedwell and that surrounding area. I have looked at, on line, several apartments around Knoxville. I did find two places in Harrogate and they were very nice. I want to be close as possible to the University but without living in downtown Knoxville. I'm an old country boy and want to keep it that way. I do love the University though and want to attend as many functions as possible. An hour away is not too far. I also want to find a nice church to attend.

There are plenty of churches it the area, so you should be able to find one that suits your taste. If you end up in Speedwell, there are several churches in that community and if you add in LaFollette, Harrogate and Middlesboro, KY you probable have a couple hundred churches to choose from.

Late subscriber here. Viewing all your videos. They are most enjoyable and your attitude towards life is refreshing. Now to this recipe. The egg white and lemon juice does a double whammy when it come to tenderizing the chicken in this case. Asians for centuries have used egg whites to "velvet " protein. Thanks Becky for the informative videos. Your fried chicken is on my menu tonight.

You are the first cooking expert to mention the issue of vegetable oil, especially the canola oil that is not fit for human consumption. I was born in the south and I am proud that one of my southern sisters is just as smart as I am./lolol

What can I add? I’ve never had such amazing chicken. It’s worth all the preparation and the grapeseed oil is perfect for flavour. I used Rakussens gluten free crackers with added polenta. They are rock hard and don’t go to crumbs but the crunchy texture is fine. My chicken is kosher supremes cut into 5 tenders each. Added extra salt as there isn’t any in the crackers. These are my new favourite thank you so much, Becky.

I add real butter and 1/2 1/2 milk in my potatoes. Butter and salt and pepper in my fresh green beans. As for my chicken I dredge first in buttermilk and egg. Then use cracker crumbs. I want to try your recipe of honey, lemon juice. Sounds wonderful. I also bought your cookbook. God’s blessings

Becky. If you'll pull off the "silver skin" from the chicken tenders / strips just before you put them into the marinade, they will absorb the marinade much better and hold the cracker crumb coatings much better. Then they'll cut with a fork like a knife. If you ever serve them up without any breading, you'll definitely taste the difference, too. This is NOT a criticism, just a friendly suggestion about something I learned in my kitchen. Have a Blessed Day.

+thebigb39 When we first got married Bret loved fried chicken, so I tried for years to find a recipe that came out good everytime. This one didn't come along for at least 5 years and it has evolved over the years. It always comes out crispy and I love how much flavor it has.

I always , always do steamed fresh green beans with butter and lemon when cooked. I put my crackers in a large plastic bag, remove as much air as possible , and crush them with a rolling pin. It's healthier to drain the water of starch in the potatoes, then cook. Yes, second batch should have been cooked in fresh oil.

When crushing Ritz crackers to use for a breading I put them in a Ziploc bag and use a rolling pin to crush them . My hands are not strong enough to crush them by hand because of arthritis so I thought I would share my method for others with the same problem. I will try this recipe it sounds delish. Thank you.
