Over 8 years worth of footage is in this video, now with that being said the consists, lighting, and resolution will change throughout, because these were all taken at different times. SP 6051 and WP 913 are two railfan favorites at the California State Railroad Museum, in this video you will see the F7A and E9A in action along the former SP Walnut Grove Branch between the years 2011 and 2019. Both engines are in fine form pulling trains, and reminding us that before it was all one big yellow blob, the Sacramento area was once served by 2 mainline railroads.

We really only bring them out for special occasions, such as our annual "Farm-to-Fork" dinner train and Polar Express.

How does one go about getting an engineer job with this museum?

We're all volunteers, including the train crew. Its a bit of a lengthy process. First you gotta go through docent training that all new volunteers have to go through. Once that's done, you sign up for car attendant training on the Sac Southern, since all new railroad volunteers have to start out as one, even if they have previous experience as an engineer. From there, you just slowly progress up the latter of other positions, spending at least an operating season in each one before being able to sign up for the training for the next one. I myself just started as a car attendant, so they're saying earliest I could become an engineer is 5-7 years. I have been told they're working on a way to streamline the process.
