I have to disagree with you on that Drequynn Rod...I think SU's sound improved since Doc retired....No doubt that under his direction, the Jukes was the total package....They just lacked sound quality and phrasing. They were still one of the most entertaining bands during his era tho.

Of course the boom is loud but it doesn't really matter when it's you have tempo issues and I've been noticing that a lot this year. Alcorn vs Su was the best 5th quarter this year, it'll be my first time going but I can't wait to head to the Honda and listen to my boys turn the Honda out this year.

SU did not destroy them at all & made JSU leave the stadium in the 5th, Haymer was even telling them to leave.....but the Boom still played one more song,then left...The BOOM had more to play! SU only had one song ...that was that Jill scott tune. All that other stuff they played...was tryna be all technical, trying HARD to show they can out play the BOOM when SU crowd did not know what the hell SU was playing...lol The crowd could not even get into it...FACT!!!! the one song JSU played JUPITER had more runs & technical than almost everything that SU played & the BOOM also entertained...people knew what the hell JSU was playing!!!! Just wait until Doc Little gets full control of that damn JSU band...I cannot wait for next year!

I feel u son, on dat one. I was a major part of that battle for many years, like 6 to be exact.. Everson and Kedric are truly inspirational music instructors and great leaders. They were destined for greatness... I'm still a Su fan but I'm a big lover of the new sound of Alcorn, and they are number 2 on my list in my opinion. Great Job to all the directors that played a instrumentive part in SOD becoming relevant again, included The Maestro Everson Martin and the big dawg Asst. Dir. Brian Sterling (we miss yall in the ville, but).,the SWAC needed it, and y'all again..... #
