He was a penalty kick away from winning the euros 3 years ago and almost beat the world champions two years ago. Fine margins. He's done well to get to the levels they have. Plenty of other international teams with great players haven't won a trophy either.

Sadly for him international football is defined by games that heppened over a long period of time-the italy game was 4 years ago. One good thing Southgate would do at Utd is bring good team spirit. Utd's team spirit has been terrible recently, Southgate would change that. Since Southgate took over England the team spirit has been brilliant.
