Jog Falls is a waterfall on the Sharavati river located in the Western Ghats near Sagar Taluk of Shivamogga District, Karnataka, India. It is the second highest plunge waterfall in India. It is a segmented waterfall which depends on rain and season becomes a plunge waterfall. The falls are major attractions for tourists and is ranked 36th in the list of free-falling waterfalls, 490th in the world by list of waterfalls by total height, 128th in the list of single-drop waterfalls in the World by the waterfall database.

I am 65 years old. I love travelling now also but driving for a long distance at this age, i have to think twice. When i was young I use traveled in two wheeler long journey to many places including Goa. You people are doing a great job and enjoying at right age as said life is short. Keep going and Happy journey for your future trips.

My dad is from Sagara Shimoga. Grandma (mom’s mom) from Karwar. Been to jog falls many times. Note all the coastal villages in Karnataka are actual surnames of the Saraswat Brahmin community. This community Lived here centuries after migrating from Kashmir. Village names like Honawar, Bhatkal, Shirali, Gokarna, murdeshwar, Dhareshwar, Udupi, Kundapura, Mudbidri, Padbidri etc… Famous personalities like Deepika Padukone, Shyam Benegal, Gurudutt of Pyasa film, Girish Karnad and many more. You are taking me down memory lane. Especially powerful memories since my dad passed away in 2002. My dad’s mother lived in Sagar till age 105. Her mother lived 108 years same place same house.

Hi, nice video. I am from sagar. 1. Travel in Honnavar-sagar-shimoga road the best time is june to August. Same is the time when jog falls is in full swing. 2. When discribing sagar-shimoga road you told its in uttara kannada district but its in Shimoga district. Jog falls view point is in Shimoga where as the actual falls and the bombay ib is in Canara dist.

Talking of travelling and enjoying life - - each one of us have different sets of issues and problems in life which sometimes comes in the way of what we would have liked to do... Some of us have aged and very ill parents at home, some of us work in sectors where too many holidays are difficult to get due to the nature of work. But all said and done, I fully agree with your thoughts about travelling and seeing the world as much as possible. We must all realise that every single day we spend on this earth as healthy, happy individuals is a gift from the Almighty.... and we must utilise them to the fullest. I am 55 and I regret not having travelled enough during my younger days when I was busy building my career...However, now inspite of being reasonably well travelled but having the hunger to travel more , my knees, waist and midriff are not that strong and sometimes I do regret not having travelled more when I was fitter. Kindly ignore the "neighborhood aunty" mentality haters who give unsolicited sermons about how you're splurging and not saving up for your future and da da da. You guys entertain thousands of people by taking them places virtually and that's all that matters. Today you're at 37k subs, next year, you might be at 3.7M, you never know. Just don't feed the trolls by mentioning them in your videos.

I and my wife kavitha went jog falls in October 16 and we enjoyed magi in same shop which you visited .but we reached Bangalore from jog to sagar to shimaga to chitradurga to Bangalore and to kolar. Welcome to bangalore .

I thoroughly enjoyed both the videos, Bengaluru to Goa and back.thanks for your video.i am a Karnataka man living in Bengaluru. Little information about Bengaluru honnavar road.it was popularly called b h road .it was the longest and most important high way of old Mysore state ,even before independence this road wsa well maintained by then rulers of mysore.part of it was cement road.and in the town's it was cement road.in 1980s it was converted to bitumen road from Bengaluru to tumkur.then tumkur honnavar stretch was declared as national highway and is currently being upgraded to fourlane high way. In future one need not go via hiriyur and hosadurga to reach Shimoga,honnavar and Karwar.

Indian and unsolicited advice goes hand in hand. Probably another generation or two and it will go off 🙂 but by then most unique qualities that identifies us as Indian will also vanish. I liked your attitude towards life, live it when you have it with you. Who has seen tomorrow? Savings for your future is important but it is equally important that you live and enjoy the present. Balancing both is the key. Have gone over few of your travelogs and it clearly demonstrates how mature both of you are... so continue what you are doing, keep inspiring like minded people to travel more and above all cherish every moments without any guilt.

You people nailed it. In fact travel is one of the best stress buster ( it is like pressing F5 on the laptop 😃).It gives you larger exposure of people , region,culture .It allows to break lot of myths/rumour ,about a region or about particular set of people. And above all it provides satisfaction . I guess what I like also, is that so many pet friendly hotels are available today ,across the country. Few years back it was slightly diffcult thing On a diffrent note ,one can try Bengaluru to Goa via Charmadi ghat .After Udupi one can enjoy the road next to the beach. Also Dandeli is something not to be missed Great seeing your blogs.
